We feel so lucky to be hosting our wedding at a private residence and vacation rental, the Big Creek Lodge. The Big Creek Lodge is located in the Pisgah National Forest. We love the outdoors and hope you do as well. Although the reception will be tented, the wedding will be entirely outdoors. This beautiful lodge was built in the 1930s and can not accommodate all of our guests so, to respect the lodge and the property owners, guests will only be permitted inside the residence on an emergency basis or to use the landline to call a taxi at the end of the night. Outdoor restroom facilities will be available on the property. Keep in mind, that with the beauty of the North Carolina National Forests comes spotty cell service, bugs, and unpredictable weather. We recommend bringing extra jackets, bug spray, sun hats, and flat shoes fit for being outside all evening.

Unfortunately, there will be no on-site guest parking. We will be providing a shuttle service from a parking location near the venue. To request to be shuttled, either respond shuttle to the parking question whilst completing your RSVP form or contact the family directly no later than two days before the wedding as shuttle times will be scheduled. Alternatively, guests can Uber, Lyft, or Taxi, to the venue address 5289 N Mills River Rd, Mills River, NC. Guests will be permitted inside the residence to use the phone to call a taxi or connect to the wifi to schedule an Uber or Lyft pick-up when leaving the wedding as cell service will be very unreliable. Keep in mind that many Taxi service companies also offer ride scheduling in advance.

Our Ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM with wine, dinner, and dancing to follow. Shuttle services will not begin until 9:30 PM, but guests are welcome to call a taxi or schedule a taxi pick-up at any time.

Can I bring a plus one?

While we would love to accommodate everyone, unfortunately, we have a very limited guest count due to property restrictions. All invited guests have been independently listed on the invitations and we will not have seats for additional guests. Please feel free to reach out to the bride or groom if you have any questions.

What will the weather be like?

It's hard to say. Spring weather in Asheville can be as low as 50 degrees and as high as 85 degrees, but averages around 70. While we hope for clear skies, there is always a possibility of rain. If it rains, the wedding will not be cancelled or delayed unless driving conditions are dangerous. We will dance down the aisle rain or shine and enjoy a nice dinner under the cover of our reception tent.

When is the RSVP deadline?

The RSVP deadline is March 25th, 2024.

How will emergency changes be communicated before the wedding?

Any emergency changes will be communicated to all guests via text message. If you have recently changed your phone number, be sure to let a member of the family know so we can update our records.

Have you reserved room blocks at any hotels?

No, we have not reserved room blocks, but we have created a list of hotels in the area under the travel and lodging tab!
