Tanner and I first crossed paths when he moved to Bamberg in 9th grade. His family began attending Bamberg First Baptist Church, where we bonded over our shared experiences in youth group. Over the years, we embarked on countless adventures together—ski trips, Scarowinds, movie nights, and weekly gatherings. Outside of church, we would ride our golf carts all over the town of Bamberg just to spend time together and when our golf carts were dead we would walk across town just to see one another.

In January 2012, Tanner asked me to be his girlfriend, and I couldnt say anything but “YES.”

Looking back, we’ve created so many memories filled with highs and lows, growth and learning. Weve spent countless hours coon hunting, deer hunting, fishing, cruising down dirt roads, on tractors spraying and harvesting crops. Our journey has been marked by tears and laughter, and through it all, we’ve navigated life side by side, teaching each other valuable lessons along the way. Every relationship faces its trials, but it’s our commitment to entrust everything to God that strengthens our bond.

On September 7, 2025, we enjoyed our final boat day of summer on the Savannah River, where Tanner surprised me by asking me to marry him. I should have sensed something special was in the air when he changed his shirt three times that morning, repeatedly asking, “Do I look good?”
