It was summer 2015. Allie and Nick had both just finished their freshman year at college. Their mutual friend, Kevin O'connor, decided to throw his first annual summer bash. They had both heard rumblings that there might be some hot singles at the party but never would have expected to find each other. They hit it off pretty easily after Allie broke the ice by complimenting Nick's Vineyard Vines whale shirt. They spent the rest of this night chatting, laughing, and dancing with no clue what the future would hold for them.

Months passed after Allie and Nick's first summer meeting. They both went back to live their separate lives at Fairfield and Uconn. They would meet again on NYE 2015 only to share their first of many midnight kisses. It was then Nick realized there was something special about this girl. He called Allie up a few days later and asked her on their first date. They then shared a romantic day at Starbucks with Nick drinking a caramel macchiato and Allie a salted caramel mocha.

Allie and Nick spent the following months back at school after their winter vacation romance. They would occasionally text from their respective dorm rooms as college kids do. But it wasn't until the Summer of 2016 - the best summer of everyone's lives - that they finally took their relationship to the next level. They rekindled their spark at yet another annual summer bash of Kevin's. Yet this time, it would lead to an entire summer spent together.

They spent that summer of 2016 truly falling in love. They quickly learned the route from Brookfield to Greenwich, as the one-hour drive was worth the days they got together. They filled their time with days at the beach, on camping trips, and Yankee games.

The unfortunate thing about summer is that it always comes to an end. Allie would return to Uconn, and Nick to Fairfield. They would go on to love each other from afar, continuing to date in a long-distance relationship for the following years. It was filled with lots of Facetime, visiting each other's schools, and even abroad.

They would spend some time apart after college while nick went on to get his CPA and Allie worked towards getting into PA school. Many long days filled with hours of studying.

They always had a way of finding their way back to each other, though. Their time apart would end on a summer night in Brookfield at the beloved Down the Hatch. They would reconnect and uncover that they had both spent their year apart pining over each other, hoping the other was feeling the same.... they always were.

From then on, their love would flourish.

Allie would eventually move to Boston in the fall of 2020 to start her journey toward becoming a PA. Thankfully, the long distance only lasted one year this time around before Nick made the move to Boston to join Allie. It was there that they moved into their first apartment together.

And got their first puppy together, Rory!!!!

And it would all lead to July 7th, 2023. A sunny day in Nantucket, when Nick finally got down on one knee and asked Allie to marry him. She said yes :)
