We first met at a brewery along the W & OD trail in May 2019. Paul was biking the trail with friends and Allie met them at their first stop with Holly in tow. Although we had some good conversations, we did not end up exchanging numbers that first day. Fast forward to July, when our mutual friend Jess took matters into her own hands and sent Paul Allie's number, encouraging him to reach out. Our first date was August 2nd, 2019, and we have never looked back!

6.18.23

In spring 2023, Paul suggested a trip to the Outer Banks, just the three of us (Paul, Allie, and Holly!). He casually mentioned taking some family photos while at the beach, and Allie played along, packing just one nice dress for the trip. When asked when we might take these photos, Paul suggested sunrise on Sunday June 18th. On Saturday night, Allie and Paul laid out matching outfits and set alarms for the early morning wakeup. Holly was brushed and ready for her close-up. On Sunday morning, we all packed into the car and headed to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse beach. The sun was slowly rising as we parked and walked out to the water. Little did Allie know, Paul did not intend to take photos on his tripod as he had mentioned, but he had hired photographer Wes Snyder to capture the moment. Just as the sun rose in the sky, Paul dropped to one knee in the sand and asked Allie to marry him. Allie of course said yes! It was a perfect morning at one of our favorite places, and a memory we will both cherish forever.
