Our Story from Larson’s POV:

How it Started

In January 2024 I met Allie on Hinge. I was pretty pessimistic about meeting someone I would eventually marry, but I thought it was worth a shot. It most definitely was worth the shot. Allie met all four things I was looking for on Hinge; beautiful, athletic, conservative, and most importantly a follower of Christ, so I asked her out on a coffee date.

Meeting Allie

On February 10th, we had our first date at Starbucks. I arrived early to make sure I wasn’t walking in looking for her like a goof. Allie walked in and I immediately thought two things: “She is so beautiful,” and “She is definitely taller than I expected.” (She had her pictures and height on Hinge so that was my fault.) I quickly found out Allie did not like coffee, so I thought I had messed up before we even began. I was thankfully wrong; Allie was so fun to talk to and clearly very smart. She was very bold about her faith and how important Jesus was in her life. I knew I wanted to spend much more time with her.

Making Things Official

We continued talking and texting back and forth and went on many fun dates after Starbucks. These dates ranged from going to TopGolf, playing pickleball, and playing volleyball with friends. Allie had invited me to a game night with her friends and I knew it would be a test to see if they liked me. When I arrived Allie said hello, then proceeded to abandon me for the rest of the night to see if I could hold my own conversations with the rest of her friends; I think I passed. During March, Allie, not subtly, prodded very pointed questions suggesting that I should ask her to be my girlfriend officially. I knew I wanted to, but I wanted my family to meet her first. She was too perfect to wait one more day so I caved in and asked; she said yes, the first of two yeses I would get! I took her to meet my family the next day, and they all loved her.

Vail Day

Through early stages of dating I had expressed to Allie how much I loved the mountains and she did too! I asked her what mountain towns she had been to, to which she replied, “I’ve been to so many, like Durango, Grand Junction, Boulder, Golden…” and many other similar places. Anyone who has lived in Colorado for their life knows these are not the expected answers, so I had to change that and take her on a day-long date to my happy place, Vail. It was such a great day full of laughs, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and growing admiration for Allie. It was the first day I thought I could see myself being with her for a long long time. We both came away from that day feeling so much closer to each other and even more excited for what is to come.

The Next Steps

The following months came and went along with many ups and a few downs. We laughed together on seeing how much more fun Allie had at TopGolf from the 2nd or 3rd floor rather than the first. I learned to always compliment Allie if she wears something new and it is my fault if I didn’t know it was new. Allie learned through long monologues that I am over the top obsessed with soccer, Bible stories, and “conspiracy theories.” We went to a wedding which sparked the question in my mind, is Allie the one I want on that altar with me? After some business bumps and having Allie stay with me and support me through it all, I knew the answer was an overwhelming yes, I wanted her there with me until the end.

The Proposal

Allie, similar to me asking her to be my girlfriend, did not make it hard for me to know that she wanted me to propose. I prepped with my brothers to make the day as perfect as possible. On February 2nd, Allie assumed no one was in town except my brothers, so we went to get brunch with them after Church. Unfortunately, there was a wait at Snooze so we had to make up time by going for a walk in a park. This of course was the plan. Both our families were waiting nearby behind tennis courts as I led Allie to a dock overlooking a lake, got down on my knee, told her how much I love her and asked her to marry me!

She Said Yes!

Fortunately, Allie and I had spent much time in prayer throughout the entire process of us dating. The most important emphasis we put on each other is that we would help the other grow closer to God. I feel so blessed and lucky that Allie loves me. She is the most Godly woman who wants what is best for God’s kingdom more than anyone I have met. She truly is the best, and frankly even better than I could ask. I am so excited to marry her and grow closer to Jesus together.

Our Story from Allie’s POV:

Meeting on Hinge!

In January of 2024, Larson and I connected on a dating app called Hinge! We sent messages back and forth for around a month and then Larson asked me if he could take me out on a date to get coffee!

The Sweetest First Date!

On February 10th, we had our first date at Starbucks and it was so much fun! Larson made me laugh so much that my cheeks hurt from smiling! We hung out in Starbucks for 3 hours and from our first date, I knew that he loved the Lord with his whole heart, he was so kind and joyful, he was so fun to be around, and he was so so cute!! It was the sweetest first date and I was smitten! I called my mom and told her how great our date was and I was so hopeful and excited!

Larson asked me to be his girlfriend!

We texted back and forth and continued to go on more fun dates, including going to Top Golf, going to yummy lunch spots, playing pickleball at a cute park, and playing volleyball with friends! Everything with Larson was so fun and joy filled! Larson asked me to be his girlfriend on March 23rd! I got to meet Larson’s family at brunch on March 24th and it was so sweet! We played a rapid fire question game called hot seat, but let’s just say I didn’t quite understand the game and gave 30 second answers to each question, whoops!! It was so special seeing the wonderful, loving family Larson is blessed by and I felt so welcomed and loved!

Vail Day Date!

On April 13th, we had our big date in Vail! It was one of the sweetest days ever! I felt so pursued, cared for, and we had so much fun! Our day was filled with lots of laughter, intentional conversations, and amazing quality time! On the drive home looking at Larson, I felt so much peace and was so giddy, and I prayed “Lord, I know it’s early, but if it’s in your will, I really hope I get to marry Larson. Thank you for the gift today was and for putting Larson in my life.”

Things are getting serious!

All throughout our relationship, it’s been so sweet walking through the highs and lows of life with Larson! It hasn’t always been the easiest circumstances, but we have worked together as a team to get through the struggles that come with life! Larson is so kind and gracious and makes me feel so loved and seen. In August, we started talking more seriously about our future and shared that we really want to marry each other one day! The time spent together just kept getting sweeter! We were so blessed to go on so many adventures and spend quality time with our family and friends, which confirmed even more that he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with!

Our Perfect Engagement Day!

On February 2nd, Larson proposed and asked me to marry him! It was a complete surprise and was the best day of my life! God was in all the details and it was the most joyful day celebrating with our closest family and friends! Larson spent so much time planning the most perfect proposal and I feel so so loved by his intentionality and prayer behind our engagement day!

PURE JOY getting to marry my best friend!

EEKKK, now Larson is my fiancé and will be my husband so soon! I am living in a real life fairy tale and this has been the absolute best year of my life!
