Our Wedding

Like all great modern love stories, ours began with a snowstorm, a dating app, and just the right amount of pestering. Allie swiped right while stuck at work during a blizzard, and Jules seized the moment—by relentlessly asking when they were going to hang out. Eventually, Allie caved (romantic!) and agreed to a date just after Christmas in 2020. Our first date was peak pandemic vibes: a drive-thru Christmas light show, homemade hot chocolate and cookies, &amp; hours of laughing and talking in Jules' car—long enough that her roommates were this close to filing a missing person report. Allie still vividly remembers jumping and clicking her heels with joy. (Yes, literally.) Some people fall in love at first sight. We fell in love somewhere between a steak dinner eaten in motion and the fluorescent lighting of a Scandinavian furniture warehouse. Jules knew Allie was the one while deep in the maze of IKEA, clutching a desk she had been hunting for like it was buried treasure. Allie had already come to that conclusion—about 35 minutes earlier—while hand-feeding Jules Texas Roadhouse steak as she navigated I-9I like a woman possessed. True love isn’t always candlelight and roses. Sometimes, it’s meat-on-the-go and flat-pack furniture. In January 2024, Jules proposed in the most magical place on Earth—Walt Disney World. The plan was romantic: pop the question mid-Skyliner ride, with Epcot fireworks exploding in the background. The reality? Slightly less cinematic. Every time Jules tried to speak, the automated Disney voice chimed in: “Now approaching Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.” It was equal parts magical and mildly stressful. But the fireworks still sparkled, Allie still said yes, and we still made it to our favorite restaurant—Topolino’s—for a perfect post-engagement dinner, where Allie celebrated life-long Disney perks. We’ve also built a life full of chaos and fur. Ollie, our first rescue cat, arrived in 2021 and immediately began terrorizing our apartment. So we got him a brother—Dobby—about 6 months later. When we closed on our first house last summer, we celebrated the way most people do: with a golden retriever puppy. Enter Remy, the newest addition to our tiny zoo. We can't wait to start this next chapter—with slightly more pet hair, and a lot more love.
