Q + A

If we are from out of town, how should we get to the ceremony/reception?

If you do not have a car, the best way to get to the various locations would be via taxi or Uber. Ubers are typically readily available and inexpensive in the Orlando area! Since we are all friends here, another option would be to chat with people at the ceremony and hitch a ride with other guests who will be driving to the reception!

What is the parking situation for the wedding ceremony?

The St. James Cathedral has a parking garage open to guests just across the street from the church. It is labeled as the “MAA Robinson Parking Garage” and is located at 310 N Orange Ave. Make sure to park in spots labeled “St. James Cathedral Parking Only,” which will be present on levels 1-3. If you require any additional information/clarification, below is the link to the St. James Cathedral website which further explains the parking options.

What is the parking situation for the wedding reception?

The venue will have ample free parking right in front. Feel free to park in any available spot.

What does “Black Tie Optional” mean?

We would love to have our family and friends dress up with us on our special day! With the “Black Tie Optional” dress code, we hope to give our guests some options. We invite the men to wear either a tuxedo or a formal suit. And women may choose to wear a full length gown or a midi dress. Reminder to all our out of state guests to keep in mind that May in Florida is typically pretty warm!

What time should I arrive to the church for the ceremony?

As the ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 pm, we recommend you aim to arrive between 1:30 pm and 1:45 pm to ensure you are able to comfortably take your seats beforehand.

Is there a break between the ceremony and reception?

Immediately following the ceremony, the cocktail hour will begin at the Country Club of Orlando, which we estimate to be around 3:15-3:30 pm. The drive from the St. James Cathedral to the Country Club of Orlando is approximately 10 minutes.

Will there be an open bar?

Of course! We encourage everyone to drink and be merry, but if you do happen to over-imbibe was ask that you please uber home.
