On April 15, 2022, John and two buddies headed to the Maverik Center to see a Grizzlies hockey game with a large group of friends. When they arrived, all the seats for that group of friends had been taken, so his buddies sat in a row above. John decided to move down and sit in front of that group to socialize and say hi to more friends.

Allison and her friends were running late to the game. In fact, they were so late that tickets were no longer being taken. She and her friends decided to sneak in through one of the doors as someone was leaving. Don’t worry, they had tickets, so no illegal activities.

As she started walking down the aisle, she noticed a boy sitting at the front of the group in a row by himself. John looked up to see three girls coming down the row, with a cute blonde girl leading the way. Instead of making room for herself in one of the other rows, Allison decided she wanted to sit next to this boy in the front row.

As she sat down, she thought about how handsome he was; she’d made a good decision to sit in his row. They immediately started talking. He learned that this cute girl’s name was Allison Adams. The conversation flowed very easily, and they clicked instantly. They talked about everything: where they were from, their families, traveling, and Allison’s recent acceptance to BYU's MBA program. They shared many interests: traveling, the Gospel, family, pickleball, and board games. John was so impressed with Allison and thought she was an amazing girl. Allison was equally impressed by John - he was so funny and nice.

At the end of the game, John decided he wanted to ask Allison out and said, “Well, which phone number is yours in this group chat?” She smoothly responded by pointing out her number and said, “You'll have to text me so I have your number too.” Allison had never been very smooth, and she was so relieved that she had been subtle. Inside, she was freaking out because this cute, nice, and funny boy had asked for her number. On the way home, her friends asked if she was interested in John Webb, and she giddily told them he had asked for her number.

And the rest is history...
