Our love story dates back to late 2019 when we connected through the one and only infamous Tinder. I immediately recognized Kyle from pictures he had with Katelyn, one of my best friends from high school. We talked over social media for a few months but lost touch when I moved back to Columbia and our lives got busy. Fast forward to the summer of 2020, I was back in Carroll for a clinical rotation. I needed a break from studying so I reached out to Kyle to see if he wanted to grab a drink and we met at The Dockit. What started as one drink turned into hanging out a few days later… and again a few days after that. Our time together ended too soon when I had to return to Columbia for school, and I told Kyle I wasn’t sure how things would “pan out” with living six hours apart. I think Kyle took that as a challenge to prove me wrong; the next weekend he drove 12 hours round trip to visit me. It didn’t take long after that for him to win my heart over!
We alternated visiting each other until I graduated in December 2020. By the spring of 2021, we moved to Waukee together with Tucker. Since then, we adopted Asher and bought our forever home in Grimes. Kyle proposed on our 3 year dating anniversary before going out to eat at Mulberry Street Tavern.
