Allie thought that they were going on a date to celebrate her birthday. They got ready and Jon led them down to the water for a sunset gondola ride for two. Allie still thought this was just for her birthday and couldn't believe how romantic the night was. On the ride, the gondolier "hit something" in the water and pulled out a message in a bottle that Jon had prepared. He then got down on one knee and asked Allie to marry him! After the gondola ride, Jon took Allie to dinner where their families were waiting to surprise them. The surprises continued after dinner as they got back to their apartment and some of their closest friends were waiting inside to celebrate the engagement!
