Christy and Allison met like most couples today – on an online dating app. Christy liked Allison first, but teases Allison frequently that she took almost a week to message Christy back. After messaging for about two weeks, Christy and Allison had their first date at the Companion on the west side of Atlanta. Allison had told Christy that she had two rules for dating – don’t be late and don’t be an asshole. While driving to their first date, Allison missed a turn and was, therefore, late (breaking her own rule). This is also something that Christy teases Allison about.

Despite busy schedules and Christy preparing for finals, Christy and Allison went on several dates before Allison flew home to Baltimore for Christmas. Allison was pretty sure that Christy was the one before she left for the holidays, but talking with Christy every day she was away solidified how she felt about Christy. When Allison got back to Atlanta, Christy gave Allison a Christmas card that asked if Allison would be her girlfriend and Allison excitedly said yes.

It was pretty evident to both of them early on that they had found their person. They had many conversations about what a life together might look like, and they shared many of the same dreams such as getting married and starting a family.

On a weekend get-away in March to the Blue Ridge mountains in north Georgia, Christy proposed to Allison. As a part of the proposal, Christy gave Allison a puzzle to put together, which puzzled Allison a bit because she didn’t know getting engaged would require work. Once completed, the puzzle said, “You’re my missing piece”, but there was one piece of the puzzle missing. Christy pulled that piece out of her pocket and gave it to Allison. The remaining piece said “Allison, will you marry me?” Allison immediately said YES!

Christy and Allison are excited to start their lives together and are looking forward to sharing their wedding day with all their friends and family.
