In January 2023, we met at church. We had never talked to one another, but one Sunday afternoon we decided that needed to change. Two weeks later, we went on our first date to Nottingham Inn. We were there for hours. The crazy part is, it felt like minutes.

After that date, we both knew we would be spending a whole lot of time together. We both have a love for coffee, so we went coffee shop after coffee shop just talking about life, our interests, our mutual love for the Lord, and soon after, the future.

On June 14th, Roger asked me if I’d want to go out to dinner after work. I said yes and he picked me up at 7:00. We were driving towards Lancaster because that was where the restaurant was. On the way, he said he wanted to stop on the way at a place I’d been talking about. I knew he meant Wildflower Lookout because I was in love with the idea of wandering through an entire field of flowers. We were walking along the trails and I was in awe of how beautiful everything looked. I turned to walk towards another field when I heard “Allison Carter”, I turn around to see Roger on one knee and he said “Will you marry me?”. I could not have been more surprised. I never in a million years thought he had planned a trip to such a beautiful place to ask me to be his wife.

We are so excited and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you.
