To start off, we can’t agree on when we met for the first time. In Dylan’s version we were in my freshman year dorm room with a few friends, and allegedly I pulled out two fireball shots from the bottom of my purse. Because Dylan was a model citizen (a loser) he became extremely uncomfortable with the idea of underage drinking, and left immediately. GREAT first impression!! In my version, which is much more tame, we met playing foosball in the lobby of my dorm. I, of course, won! Obviously, it was not love at first sight.
In the years to follow, Allison and I grew closer as friends (and shared an occasional kiss or two). The more time we spent together the more we realized how easily we actually got along. I decided that this girl was someone who I always wanted around, so I asked her to be my girlfriend November of our senior year.
We grew closer as a couple in the following months, and grew extremely close once COVID hit. Dylan and I spent most of that time sharing stories, meeting each others families, and watching Lost (horrible ending). I knew that Dylan was the one, so I convinced him to move back to Dallas, not Dallas Dallas, with me!
After moving to Texas, the next step in our relationship was making sure our families weren’t crazy! They are indeed crazy, but a crazy we both love. After insuring I got along with her family and many serious conversations about our future, we took the only logical next step; we got a dog! The nuance of a dog only lasted a year until Allison wanted more. In all seriousness, I did as well. I knew Allison is the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. With her dad’s blessing and her mom’s elaborate proposal ideas, I proposed to Allison. Thank God she said yes!
