Since the day we matched on Bumble in April of 2021, the conversation was effortless. We slowly started finding out all of the things we had in common from being left handed to loving rollercoasters to wild berry pop tarts are the best flavor and loving champagne and red wine but skip the white wine. Turns out we are very different, but we have a good balance that works very well for us….unless it’s 49ers vs. Packers or Warriors vs. Bucks or Taylor Swift vs. Kanye. Then we’re feuding. For two and a half years, we mostly saw each other only on the weekends but traveled together every chance we got. Our first trip together, 2 months in, we went to Kenosha, Wisconsin to meet Austin’s family and hometown friends. We realized quickly we were going to be great travel partners together. It’s now common to go back once or twice a year to visit and go to special events. In January of 2022, we went to Disney World in Florida and spent 5 full days wandering each of the parks. On the second night, after the firework show at Magic Kingdom, Austin told me he loved me for the first time. Something I will remember for the rest of my life. Austin really missed being a cat dad so we started looking for one to adopt in February of 2022. We brought our fur baby, Goose, home on 2/27/22. She was 9 months old at the time. Now, she is 4 and is the sweetest ray of pitch black you will ever meet! We love her and spoil her to no end. In, December of 2023 we moved into our apartment in Milpitas, CA. We love to decorate for the holidays and not just Christmas! Halloween is a big one in this household, too! Every time I come home with any new holiday decor of any kind, I get the classic, “Oh, boy!” Our couples Halloween costumes are pretty epic, and I hope to wear matching Christmas pajamas for the rest of our lives. He won’t admit it, but he is almost as festive as I am and we both pay close attention to the details. Fast forward to May of 2025, we took the trip of a lifetime to New York for a week! We had a jam packed schedule with hardly any down time but somehow Austin had an extra plan in mind. On the second night (again), we headed up to the Empire State Building and he got on one knee and proposed! I was so excited that I didn’t cry, I squealed! I could not have asked for a more romantic and personal proposal. It was just the two of us up there for all I knew in that moment. I didn’t dare look around to see if there was an audience. I was staring at the ring, at him and the glistening views from the top of New York City. It was like a movie or a dream and I couldn’t wait to get home to celebrate with my family and friends. The outpour of love and support by our family and friends has been truly touching. Throughout the last 4 years, we have been building the life we have today. I am so grateful for it all, but I am the most excited to see the future we will make together. We love you and can’t wait to celebrate!!
