Q: Am I allowed to bring my children?

A: While we love your little ones, the wedding ceremony and reception are adults only events. Thank you for following our wishes!

Q: Can I bring a plus one or other family members?

A: We are so excited to celebrate with our closest family and friends! Due to limited space at the reception venue, we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. If your invitation indicates a plus one or other family members, it will say so.

Q: What is the dress code?

A: Black-Tie Optional. Dress to impress! For women, please wear a long or midi dress, but long dresses are preferred! For men, please wear suits.

Q: Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

A: Both the ceremony and reception will take place indoors.

Q: Can I take pictures with my phone?

A: During the ceremony, we would appreciate if no photos are taken using your cell phone. The photographer will take care of it! At the reception, please take as many photos as you wish!

Q: What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

A: The ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM EST sharp (the wedding processional will begin at 12:45 PM), so please arrive earlier than this to give yourself ample time to find a seat, ideally by 12:40. Doors open at 12:30. You are able to enter the church as early as 12:30. The Basilica hosts multiple weddings each day, so we are on a tight schedule. Thank you!

Q: When should I RSVP by?

A: Friday, May 8th!

Q: Will there be an open bar?

A: Of course!

Q: Where can I park for the ceremony? Where do those with disabilities park?

A: Guests are able to park in either the Grotto Lot or St. Liam's Lot for free and walk to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart from there. See the following map (https://map.nd.edu/#/placemarks/L0277/zoom/17/lat/41.70389097285928/lon/-86.23906744155902) if you need help! Handicapped parking is available for cars with ADA placards in the Grotto Lot, St. Liam’s lot and off Sorin Circle. Anyone dropping off a guest with a disability is invited to drive the guest to one of the two ADA entrances. Guests can be dropped at Sorin Circle and use the ADA entrance on the east side of the Basilica or may be dropped at the front of the Basilica and use the ADA entrance on the south side of the Basilica. [Note: St. Liam's Lot is not labeled on the map, but it is the parking lot located behind St. Liam Hall and next to the Mail Distribution Center on the map.]

Q: How do I get onto campus?

A: Guests can enter at either the East Gate or Main Gate. See the Campus Map linked in the Q/A above!

Q: Where can I park for the reception?

A: The reception venue, The Brick, has a large parking lot behind the building.

Q: When should I book my hotel by?

A: We have a hotel block with discounted rates at the DoubleTree by Hilton in South Bend (see Travel/Hotel tab for link and phone number to book. In order to get the discounted rate, you must book your hotel before May 10th. This is when our hold on discounted hotel rooms will expire!
