Smale is a beautiful park to visit with gardens, play areas and interactive sites to engage in. It's located on the riverfront at The Banks of Cincinnati neighborhood, with restaurants and bars that stretch from the Reds' Great American Ball Park to the Bengals stadium. If you're anywhere else downtown (like in Over-the-Rhine where the wedding will be held), take the streetcar for a quick (and free!) ride down to the riverfront.
We love Pins! We go here every Thanksgiving when Grandpa Mike (Allison's dad) is in town. It's also one of our go-to date night spots. They have duckpin bowling, arcade games, a rooftop patio and really fun drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). It's kid-friendly most days until 8 p.m.
Findlay Market is a great place to walk around, do a little shopping and grab food from some of Cincy's staple restaurants. We typically start by grabbing a beer or drink from the outside bar and then heading inside to the indoor market to see what fresh oysters Sen by Kiki has that day! Check out the website to see the variety of shops and cuisines there are. (You can also get there directly by taking the streetcar.)
Holiday Spirits is our SPOT, so much so that we had part of our engagement photo shoot there! It's a relaxed atmosphere with a walk-up food window and an outdoor patio. Bring a little cash, or use the ATM, and experience it our way by playing Skee-ball, Pop-a-Shot and pool.
In Cincy, we eat our chili on top of spaghetti -- and it's delicious! Dine like a true Cincinnatian and get a 3-way, 4-way or 5-way, or even treat yourself to a chili cheese coney. Don't forget the essential accoutrements of oyster crackers and signature hot sauce.
Take another Cincy culinary adventure to Graeter's! We recommend Allison's favorite flavor, Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip -- their signature pick.
Ranked best in the nation year after year, and only 2.5 miles from the wedding venue, the Cincinnati Zoo is another must-see destination! It's a family favorite of ours and includes Mackenzie's favorite animal, Fiona the hippo and her little brother, Fritz.
Got some money burnin' a hole in your pocket? Did you check out our registry? Kidding!!
The Hard Rock Casino has all your gambling favorites, along with some great restaurants and live music. About a mile away from the wedding venue
Located just walking distance from the wedding venue, Washington Park is a cool place to check out and will likely have an outdoor market or live event while you're in town! It's totally picturesque with plenty of iconic Cincy sites in the background, like the historic Music Hall, pictured above.
This is one of the city's most popular restaurants and it's definitely one of our favorite places to get fried chicken. It's also within walking distance from the wedding venue (and reachable by streetcar with a few extra steps). Don't sleep on the spoon bread!
