John and Allison met at the University of Iowa before their freshman year classes had even began. They quickly became close friends and spent almost all their time together. This was their very first picture together right before a Hawkeye win!

This photo was taken about a month after John asked Allison to be his girlfriend, for the 3rd time.

John and Allison spent many months in different states due to COVID, Facetiming and sporadic weekend visits was the reality.

To wrap up their almost fully virtual sophomore year of college, John and Allison went to Florida with friends to celebrate.

John and Allison spent another summer in different states but really enjoyed visiting each other and growing closer as a couple.

They kicked off junior year with frozen yogurt and a walk downtown Iowa City.

John and Allison attended the B1G 10 Championship Game in Indianapolis, IN. They saw Michigan crush Iowa and Allison realized John watches football just like her Dad.

Allison's sister, Lindsay, got married and John and Allison both got extremely sick. They quickly figured out how much both of them cared for the other.

Allison graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Elementary Education.

John graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Sports and Recreation Management.

John joined the Allison on his first Hippen family vacation. They went to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan!

Allison joined John on her first Ruddy family vacation. They went to Florida.

John and Allison began their season of living in different parts of Iowa. John in the Des Moines area working for Cintas and Allison in Iowa City working for CCA as a 3rd grade teacher. They visited each other about every weekend and knew the other person was their other half.

Allison and John went ring shopping. Allison was very excited and John was a little nervous!

John completely surprised Allison and proposed! Allison was thinking this moment was going to happen months from then.

John surprised Allison again with an engagement party after the Iowa Women's Basketball game that day. We even got to see Caitlin Clark!
