Our Wedding

Daniel and Allison met in middle school. They had the same&nbsp;first hour advanced algebra&nbsp;class on the first day of 8th grade.&nbsp;Although they grew up in the same town, this is the first time they met as Daniel had previously&nbsp;attended a local private school until this point in his education.&nbsp;Allison arrived rather late&nbsp;to the first class&nbsp;(typical for her) and quickly tried to find her name on the seating chart. After realizing she was assigned to sit next to the "new kid", she introduced herself as "Krista's friend"&nbsp;and sat down.&nbsp;Their relationship started as classmates and they&nbsp;eventually became&nbsp;friends. They&nbsp;sat next to each other in multiple classes and before you know it they were chatting away on Instant Messenger (MSN to be exact) after school. As 8th grade year came to an end, it was clear to everyone except Daniel and Allison that they had a crush on each other.&nbsp;

After chatting away the summer, Daniel and Allison realized that they both had the same feelings for each other.&nbsp;At an&nbsp;end-of-the-summer bonfire&nbsp;Allison took initiative and stole her first kiss from Daniel on August 16th, 2008. Freshman year started and on September 9th, on their&nbsp;walk to geometry class, Daniel (awkwardly I&nbsp;might add)&nbsp;asked if Allison would be his girlfriend. Thrown off guard, Allison responded "I don't know" and quickly walked into the class room to avoid further discussion. Four days passed and after much deliberation, which included figuring out if their friendship would be ruined if they dated, Allison told Daniel she would be his girlfriend on September 12th, 2008.











Their first "official"&nbsp;date was on August 10th, 2009. As soon to be&nbsp;sophomores in high school, Allison had her license and their mutual choice for a date spot was Culver's in Manitowoc. Who doesn't love butter on their burger and a side of custard?!&nbsp;











Fast forward&nbsp;through high school - which can be summed up with&nbsp;lots of Friday nights of football with both Daniel and Allison wearing #81, dances, bonfires, dreams&nbsp;of trips to Europe and actual&nbsp;trips to McDonalds. Senior year is&nbsp;when they both decided that St. Norbert College would be their home post high-school. Daniel pursuing a career in education and a spot on their track team, and Allison looking for a smaller school close to home with a good business program.&nbsp;











College proved to be a great test for their relationship as they grew individually and as a couple. Daniel learned that Allison struggled with homesickness and Allison learned that Daniel had a true passion for track. Each of them made great groups of life-long friends and had a great time enjoying the freedom that is college. In December of&nbsp;2015, Allison finished her degree while Daniel was busy student teaching for his last semester in college. May of 2016, they both walked across the graduation stage&nbsp;with honors.&nbsp;











Life for them post college included - moving back to Mishicot to live with their parents and pay off their student debt, getting their first jobs, and trying to figure out what adult life&nbsp;was about. Through all their life changes, they realized that life was better together.&nbsp;











On August 16th, 2017&nbsp;Daniel&nbsp;and Allison finished up a game of bar league volleyball. It was&nbsp;day before Daniel's birthday he told Allison that he wanted to celebrate on this Wednesday night because&nbsp;he was busy with events at the school he teaches at the following night. Allison agreed and told Daniel they could do whatever he wanted for his birthday. Daniel decided his choice for dinner was Culver's in Manitowoc. Being 24 years old at this time (or just about)&nbsp;Allison thought to herself that they could probably afford to do something a little nicer for his birthday this year but agreed to Culver's&nbsp;because Daniel&nbsp;insisted. Daniel urged Allison to bring a change of clothes for after volleyball. Allison disagreed. She stated that she didn't care if&nbsp;the people in Culver's saw her in her clothes dirty from&nbsp;volleyball (which she would later regret). As they arrived at Culver's Daniel changed his clothes in the parking lot. He put on a seriously OLD&nbsp;shirt that Allison hadn't seen in years. Allison was puzzled but laughed at the fact that he still had it. She&nbsp;had remembered that was the shirt he was wearing when they first kissed 9 years ago. After some very delicious butter burgers (per their first date ritual), Daniel and Allison got back in their vehicle to go home. Daniel was driving and talking away, missing all the exists they needed to take to get back to Mishicot. Allison, annoyed at his lack of attention, asked why he wasn't taking the correct exists. Daniel told her he wanted to take a trip to St. Norbert College to walk around on campus and see the new renovations. At this point Allison was&nbsp;annoyed. Driving 30 minutes each way to go for a walk on a week night was silly when it was already approaching 9pm. Daniel continued to pull the "it's my birthday"&nbsp;card so to DePere they went. After walking around their beloved campus, reminiscing and admiring the new additions, Daniel and Allison found themselves in front of Old St. Joseph's church on campus. This is where they enjoyed attending mass for their 4 years at school and was one of their favorite places on campus. Still under construction, there were blockades set up in front of the church walkway&nbsp;that stated "Do Not Enter". At this point Allison was still fairly annoyed. Daniel had been pushing and pulling her all over campus all night and she was wondering what he was up to. Typical Daniel, who likes to bend the rules, suggested to Allison that they go where it said not to enter to see the church construction. Allison, being a lover of rules, resisted. After more persistence on Daniel's part he got her to break the rules to check it out. Allison looked around (quickly I&nbsp;might add for fear of getting in trouble)&nbsp;and when she turned around found Daniel on his knee. Daniel asked Allison "Do you know what today is?",&nbsp;Allison being&nbsp;shocked,&nbsp;said "no".&nbsp;&nbsp;Daniel reminded Allison that it was the 9th anniversary of their first kiss and pointed out that he was wearing the same shirt he wore the day 9 years ago. Daniel then&nbsp;asked if Allison would be his wife and spend forever with him.&nbsp;Allison's overjoyed response&nbsp;was&nbsp;to accept his proposal.&nbsp;











Which brings them here...preparing to get married on June 23rd, 2018 at their favorite church on the most beautiful campus by the Norbertine priest who became their mentor and friend during and after their time at St. Norbert. It's a story 9 years in the making and they can't wait to start their newest chapter as&nbsp;newly weds.&nbsp;They are looking to kick of their marriage with a honeymoon&nbsp;adventure of a lifetime,&nbsp;and are&nbsp;looking forward to&nbsp;finally fulfilling their high school&nbsp;dream&nbsp;of a trip to Europe.&nbsp;
