In 2019, fate led Allison and Cory to the same sand volleyball team (thanks Julie). Despite initial reservations, an undeniable attraction sparked, and a unique bond began to blossom. And this, is where the wild goose chase began…
Allison was the chaser (and she’s not ashamed to admit it). They’d see each other weekly, be each other’s work event and wedding dates, workout together, cook together, and truly became the best of friends over that summer. They laughed…a lot. So much that crying from laughter before even crawling out of bed was the norm. The magic of their love story unfolded with the creation of playful goose nicknames—just a couple of silly geese. Within that whimsical moment, Allison and Cory found a unique and enchanting connection that felt absolutely right. 🦢

In March of 2020, amid the snow-covered slopes of Steamboat, CO, Cory realized they were the perfect match. On the mountain, with the thrill of skiing around them, he asked Allison to be his girlfriend. Since that moment, their relationship flourished, growing stronger with each passing day. 🏔️

Facing a series of curveballs early on, Cory and Allison navigated challenges like COVID, a layoff, backing out of a house, and a career change. Undeterred, they weathered the storm together. Cory transitioned into medical device sales, and amidst the rain, their love persevered. As they moved forward, the sun continued to shine on their journey. 🌦️

June 2022 marked a new chapter as Allison embraced a busy, travel filled career in dental sales, guided by Cory’s encouragement. Despite building their life together, there was one missing piece—an engagement ring, the final piece to their evolving love story. 💍

As the end of 2022 approached, Allison, feeling a bit antsy, expressed her readiness for the next chapter. With a gentle nudge from Cory’s mom, Janie, who made it clear waiting wouldn’t be forever, Cory found the courage to take the next step. 💑

On April 7th, 2023, after their final run in Durango, CO, Allison and Cory descended the mountain. As Allison, quite literally, crashed to their destination, Cory seized the moment. On one knee, he presented a golden goose egg. YES! Allison joyfully accepted, ending their whimsical goose chase and signaling the start of their happily ever after.
