We visited this little gold mine earlier this summer with family! It was a nice location for children to get to know more about the California gold mining days of the 1800s.

You can explore the Gold Bug and the mining museum. Have kiddos pan in troughs to find gems, and visit the historic Stamp Mill and working Blacksmith Shop up the hill.

This is a fun place to take Kiddos to as well! Right off the American River you can explore the fish hatchery and museum.

You can visit Folsom Lake near us! Preston goes for morning rides around this beautiful lake.

There is a day use car parking (pay to enter) area available to anyone wanting to make a visit.

You can visit Jenkinson Lake that is a little closer toward the mountains. We visited this lake earlier in the summer with family!

There is a parking pay lot, but we found out you can also park along the highway.
