Matt and Allison’s love story began on New Year’s Eve 2022 at Chick’s Oyster Bar, the old watering hole in Virginia Beach. Allison was sitting with her friend Maddie when Matt noticed her from across the room. He mustered up the (liquid) courage to introduce himself, and the two quickly hit it off. The next thing they knew, they spent the entire night talking and dancing, and even shared a New Year's kiss.

From that day forward, Matt knew he wanted to see Allison again and take her on a proper date. A couple of weeks later, on Friday the 13th, they shared their first date at Orion's Roof. Allison was very impressed with Matt's romantic choice as well as the bouquet of sunflowers he brought for her.

Their connection deepened as they shared more dates, and Matt officially asked Allison to be his girlfriend on February 11, 2023. From then on, they built a loving relationship and created many memories. Matt and Allison traveled to Ohio and California to meet each other's friends and families. The two also faced their first deployment together, where they prioritized countless FaceTime dates to overcome the distance. However, their most cherished memories are those simply spent relaxing together at their apartment, sharing a bottle of wine while watching movies, documentaries, or reality dating shows (Matt is a trooper).

While their music tastes don’t always align, they share plenty of common ground—football, working out, and binge-watching The Office. They’re also proud parents to their obese and much-loved cat, Cheeto.

Chalk it up to fate, timing, or just good luck, it is hard for them to imagine their lives without that chance of meeting at Chick's. There is truly no one else that could put up with Allison's crippling OCD or Matt's disturbing heavy metal memorabilia. All jokes aside, the two are a perfect fit and really bring out the best in each other.
