Permit* and Reservation* in Glacier National Park

Every vehicle needs a vehicle entrance pass that is good for 7 days so make sure your 7 days includes all days you’ll be at the park. Make sure you go and reserve your pass when you can since it is a high tourist area. You ALSO need a vehicle reservation to get anywhere in the park other than the Apgar village. We booked a boat cruise for everyone on Saturday at 4pm and so that reservation counts for your reservation on Saturday. If you want to go into the park (past apgar village) on any other day you will need a vehicle reservation. It is past the time to get a reservation, so now you have to wait until 7pm the night before you want to go and log into Recreation.gov right at 7pm and reserve a going to the sun pass. Just ask me if you have any questions. There is more permit information on the website and my photographer has been through this and is very knowledgeable on permit info so if you have any other questions just ask me and I can ask her.

To Dos

All to dos for trip with timelines!

1. Book hotel/Vrbo- asap for most affordable options, probably by September 2023.

2. Reserve park permit - they are available to book now!

3. Book flights - I would use a tracking app and book when most affordable.

4. Rent car or book shuttles - when you book flights.

5. Reservation for going to the sun road, this IN ADDITION to your park permit gets you access to the park past apgar village, on the going-to-the-sun road. This is valid for 1 day. It becomes available in May for September, so you need to go to the website and make a reservation for each day other than the wedding day and that Saturday you want to go to the park past apgar village, on the going-to-the-sun road. I apologize to repeat, I know it gets confusing, if you have any other questions just ask!

6. Lastly enjoy one of the most beautiful national parks in the US with us!:)
