How We Met...And How We Met Again

Daniel and Allison originally met for the first time about ten years ago during their undergrad years, in the spring of 2016. Allison is originally from Gainesville yet had recently transferred to Liberty University up in Virginia. Daniel made the move up to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida. Because LU and UF had different semester breaks, the two had the opportunity to meet while Allison was home for a break to visit family and friends. In the years that followed, Daniel &amp; Allison completed their undergraduate and graduate coursework at their respective universities and began their careers. Years later, they found themselves both working for the University of Florida, with Allison as a mental health therapist and Daniel as a faculty member specializing in youth development. However, there was one simple issue... they were hundreds of miles apart. Allison was based on the main campus in Gainesville, and Daniel was in Palm Beach County. Throughout this time, they had not formally reconnected, but "followed" each other on social media, as they had since they first met. Working for the University of Florida, Daniel's travels brought him to Gainesville several times a year. During one of those trips, Daniel found Allison on a dating app that required the guy to respond with a prompt set by the girl, upon matching (which they did). Allison's prompt was "Give me your unpopular opinion," and after Daniel's response of "fancy seeing you here!", he admittedly used AI to formulate the response of "I'm confident the second sneeze is always more powerful than the first." Yes - despite the corniness of the joke - Allison gave him a chance, and they began chatting. Several weeks and daily conversations later, Daniel was back in Gainesville, and they met for lunch. During that lunch, they further caught up on their lives since 2016 - where they have been, what they have learned, and how the Lord had been present through it all. Since then, still in their current work locations, they have chosen each other, holding all their blessings open-handedly, and Daniel and Alli have seen the Lord work. They would not be here today if it were not for being surrounded by Biblical community and accountability, both individually and together. 'For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ' - Jeremiah 29:11

Mir and I originally met in the fall of 2016 when I was assigned as a random roommate to her and Alexis (my other MOH) in a triple bedroom. While most people have horror stories about random roommate experiences, I'm grateful to say that this situation was the start a life long friendship that is going on 10 yrs strong. It has been a joy to walk alongside Miriam as she has stepped into her roles of wife and now mom, and somehow she has never missed a beat in being a  consistent and faithful friend. I'm grateful to have her by my side on this day!

I worship alongside Nate at Calvary Chapel Plantation, where we also have the privilege of co-leading a small group together. Over the years, Nate has faithfully walked with me through multiple seasons of life, consistently offering encouragement, accountability, and perspective. His grit, determination, and intentional way of living have challenged me to grow both personally and spiritually. Nate and his wife, Jalyn, live in South Florida.

Alexis (affectionately known as "Wegs" to those closest to her) and I originally met in the fall of 2016 when I was assigned as a random roommate to her and Miriam (my other MOH) in a triple bedroom. I'm grateful to say that this random roommate situation turned into a life long friendship that is going on 10 yrs strong. I admire Alexis for her boldness, her fun spirit, and how she intentionally loves her people. I'm thankful to have her stand with me on this special day, and you can expect to see her and I tearing up the dance floor together at the reception!

Mark and I met while I was volunteering in Union County, Florida, and it didn’t take long for him to feel more like a brother than a friend. Since then, our relationship has only grown stronger. Now living in Gainesville, Mark works as a plumber while attending trade school full-time, which speaks volumes about his dedication, work ethic, and perseverance. On top of that, he has one of the best senses of humor I know and a heart that naturally encourages everyone around him. Mark brings joy into every room he walks into, and I’m thankful for the steady encouragement and laughter he adds to my life.

From the very beginning of Daniel and I's relationship, Danette has welcomed me into the Gonzalez family with open arms. Even at our first in-person meeting, she jokingly stated "is it too soon for me to call you my sister-in-law??". As time has passed, I've gotten to know and love Danette's sense of humor, her wisdom, and how intentionally she loves others. I'm so incredibly grateful to have my new sister standing by my side on this special day!

Chandler and I met while serving together as UF/IFAS Extension Agents, and I quickly came to respect both his heart and his leadership. After that season, Chandler faithfully followed the Lord’s call west, stepping out in obedience and trust. He now lives in Wooster, Ohio, with his wife, Emma, and their son, Cameron. Chandler is a gifted communicator and a devoted follower of Christ, and his life has been a steady example to me of what it looks like to take up your cross daily and continually follow Him, even when the path isn’t easy.

1. When and where is the wedding? With grateful hearts, we invite you to celebrate with us on Sunday, May 24th, 2026 in Gainesville, Florida at The Barn at Deep Creek. The venue address is 3910 NE 156th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609.The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors under a covered pavilion, followed by an indoor reception in an air-conditioned barn at the same venue. 2. What time should I arrive? Please plan to arrive 15–30 minutes before the ceremony begins so you can be seated and settled as we prepare to worship and celebrate together. The ceremony will promptly begin at 5pm. 3. What is the dress code? Our wedding attire is Cocktail Attire.We invite guests to dress polished yet comfortable—suits or dress shirts for men, and dresses, midi dresses, or dressy jumpsuits for women. Breathable fabrics and comfortable shoes are encouraged, as the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors. 4. Will the ceremony and reception be outdoors? The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors under a covered pavilion. And the reception will follow indoors in an air-conditioned remodeled barn event space. 5. Will there be food and drinks? Yes! Light refreshments and drinks will be served during cocktail hour, followed by dinner at the reception. Our celebration will be alcohol-free, but don’t worry—there will be an open bar featuring sodas, tea, and other non-alcoholic favorites. 6. Are children welcome? While we love children and value family, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration, unless your child(ren)'s name(s) is/are noted on your invitation. Thank you for understanding. 7. Can I bring a plus-one? Due to space limitations, we are only able to invite those listed on the invitation. We are so thankful for your understanding and support. 8. Is parking available at the venue? Yes, on-site parking will be available for guests at the venue. 9. Can I take photos during the ceremony? We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, allowing us all to be fully present as we honor God and witness this sacred moment together.
