Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect at the ceremony?
Our ceremony will be a traditional Catholic Mass. All guests are warmly welcome to attend—please feel free to participate as you’re comfortable. Communion is reserved for practicing Catholics, but everyone is invited to come forward for a blessing or remain seated. We’re just happy to have you there!
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony will begin at 2:00 PM. We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes early to allow time for seating.
What should I do between the ceremony and reception?
There will be a gap between our ceremony and reception. The ceremony begins at 2:00 PM, and the reception will start at 5:00 PM. We encourage guests to use this time to relax, explore Smithville Historic Village, or grab a drink nearby before the celebration continues!
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by July 25, 2026, either by mail or online, as we will need to provide our final guest count shortly after. Unfortunately, we may be unable to accommodate responses received after the deadline.
Can I bring a plus one?
We would love to celebrate with everyone, but due to limited space, we’re only able to include the guests listed on your invitation. Please note that your RSVP reflects the number of guests invited. We truly appreciate your understanding!
Are children invited?
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be adults-only due to space and planning considerations. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy a night off celebrating with us!
Will there be transportation or parking available?
Transportation will not be provided, so we kindly ask guests to arrange their own travel between the ceremony and reception.
Parking is available at both the ceremony and reception venues. Valet parking will be available at the Smithville Inn for the reception. Please allow a few extra minutes for parking and walking.
What is the dress code?
Cocktail attire. We encourage guests to dress up for the occasion while keeping comfort in mind. Our venue has a romantic, vintage feel, if you’d like to take inspiration from that! We kindly ask guests to avoid wearing white or ivory.
How will dinner be served?
Dinner will be served buffet-style, with a variety of options to choose from. There will also be an open bar throughout the reception! If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance so we can do our best to accommodate.
Where is the after party?
After the reception, feel free to join us for a casual gathering at Fred and Ethel's Lantern Light Tavern, located just across from the The Smithville Inn. A cash bar will be available, and late-night snacks will be provided by the bride and groom.
