Nick and I met Friday, November 26, 2021 at Joe Blacks bar in Grand Forks. Ellen (one of my bridesmaids) was in town for Thanksgiving break and her, Morgan (another bridesmaid), and myself made plans to go downtown that evening. As we walked into Joe Blacks, I ran into some old friends from high school. After those conversations were over, Morgan and her husband, Dustin, went to find a table. I then realized Ellen was nowhere to be found. After searching, I found Ellen talking to Nick, whom I recognized from photos on social media with other mutual friends of ours. I went up to him and introduced myself, and the rest is history. We went on our first date the next night and our relationship blossomed. It's a running joke between us that Joe Blacks brought us together-the one place in town that no one ever expects to meet their forever person.
