Allison was born and raised in Union City, Tennessee and attended Union University in Jackson, Tennessee for her pharmacy degree. Allison moved to St. Louis in the summer of 2019 to begin her residency program at the VA Healthcare System. She now works as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the St. Louis VA Medical Center.
Andrew was born and raised in O'Fallon, Missouri and attended Mizzou in Columbia, Missouri where he got his mechanical engineering degree. Since graduating from Mizzou, Andrew has worked in St. Louis as an engineer and resides in historic St. Charles.
Andrew and Allison first met the "new-fashioned" way - thanks to the world wide web (a dating app called Hinge). After exchanging some messages and a few phone calls, Allison and Andrew had their first date on Halloween 2020.
Andrew made a lasting first impression by ramping the curb right in front of Allison when picking her up for their first date, but luckily for all of us - Allison was able to see past that and still have an amazing first date.
The new couple hit it off from their first conversations strolling through Botanical Gardens, where they stayed until they were kicked out at park closing time. Not wanting the date to end quite yet, Allison and Andrew continued on to more walking and talking at Tower Grove Park and then dinner on The Hill.
After their marathon first date - Allison and Andrew continued to grow in their love for each other and quickly became inseparable.
Andrew had made it clear that he intended to propose to Allison in the near future, but had also made it clear he hoped to genuinely surprise Allison with the proposal. To do that, Andrew launched operation Sneaky Proposal.
With the help of a few friends and family, Andrew set up multiple fake plans to fool Allison into thinking a proposal couldn't happen that weekend. The day before the proposal, Andrew subtly convinced Allison to visit the Botanical Gardens for a one-year anniversary stroll through the gardens - on a rainy Saturday morning in October - without raising any suspicious alarm bells (by some miracle).
Little did Allison know, Andrew's and Allison's family and a photographer were all lurking nearby at the Gardens, waiting for the big moment.
As they walked through the park, they reminisced on the conversations and feelings they recalled of their first date on that same walking path one year earlier.
Then, with empty Starbucks drink in hand, Andrew dropped to one knee, pulled the ring from its hiding place in his sock, and asked Allison to marry him. And the rest, as they say, is history!
