GETTING TO AND FROM WAIHEKE
Waiheke Island is known internationally as one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Just 35 minutes from downtown Auckland on passenger ferry or 45 minutes by car ferry, Waiheke is often referred to as the Jewel in the Hauraki Gulf. The island is a unique blend of landscapes from beaches to rolling vineyards with fantastically diverse people from around the world and an ever-expanding selection of great wine and good food.
Whether you’re travelling from the city or from Auckland airport you will need to take a shuttle bus or taxi to Downtown Auckland ferry terminal. The shuttle bus is a cheaper option as you expect to pay around $80 for a taxi or uber is available as well. The passenger ferry leaves this terminal from 6am to late, approximately every hour www.fullers.co.nz for further information.
Another option is to bring your own car and get the car and passenger ferry from Half Moon Bay and Wynyard Quarter Auckland to Waiheke Island. For prices and timetables see www.sealink.co.nz
We are looking to have a bus take guests from the passenger ferry terminal to the reception venue. We will also have the buses to take guests from the reception back to the ferry terminal to catch the 11pm & the last ferry back (12:30am) for those who do not wish to stay on the island (we highly recommend you do because it is a brilliant spot to be for the weekend).
