Ally and Matt share a childhood connection that stretches back to their early years. Interestingly, Ally's best friend, Lindsey (Matron of Honor), happens to be Matt's cousin. Despite their age difference—Matt being five years older—they didn't spend much time together during their youth. However, as fate would have it, they crossed paths again later in life.

Their reunion occurred under somber circumstances, as they both attended Matt's grandmother's visitation and funeral in late December of 2020. It was there that Ally caught sight of Matt after years of separation, finding him undeniably charming. Eager to learn more about him, she turned to Lindsey for insight.

Ally slid into Matt's DMs on Instagram and used her new home (Indiana) as a talking point seeking recommendations for exciting places to explore. With that, Matt offered to meet up with Ally to talk further.

Their first date ended up being at Bubbas 33 (January 7, 2021) where they got sat on the same side of the booth (Covid times) and ended up just drinking a few beers and talking for hours.

A few dates later and they were both committed. In April of 2021 Matt told Ally he loved her for the first time and asked her to move in. At this point there was no turning back, Matt was stuck.

At some point in 2022 Matt bought a ring and then on April 7, 2023 he finally popped the question and Ally of course said yes!

Bonus info: June 7, 2025 is the wedding date. This came from our first date being January 7th, our engagement on April 7th, and then both of our parents got married in June!
