Ally and Jerome met while attending San Francisco State University as members of PACE. Their first interaction came from Jerome's reputation for helping people with math- related courses and Ally was one of them.

Jerome was born and raised on Guam and during the holidays he would spend it with his relatives in California. On November 2013, he was unable to due to his relatives' travel commitments. Ally, feeling that no one should spend the holidays alone, invited him to spend Thanksgiving with her family. After that they started spending a lot of time together going out to lunches and watching movies together and later decided to pursue a relationship together. They enjoyed going out and trying new restaurants, activities and attending events for the first time such as sporting events, fairs, Disneyland etc. Through the years they have supported each others' individual goals and helped each other grow as adults.

On February 2024 the couple decided to book a trip to Hawaii to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. Unknown to Ally, Jerome had asked her family's permission to propose to her and announced his intentions to his family months before planning the trip. On February 16, 2024, with the help of his less attractive brothers, Jerome proposed to Ally at the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden in Oahu, with Jerome not knowing where he was going to propose until the day of. After the feeling of shock and surprise had passed, Ally said yes and thus the couple began to prepare for this new and exciting chapter in their lives
