Our journey together began in a way that neither of us could have predicted. It all started when Allyse liked a picture of Mikey’s dog Blu online. At the time, Mikey was on the phone with his friend Les and, half-jokingly, declared, I just found my wife. Little did he know, he was speaking it into existence.
Despite his bold statement, it took three attempts before Allyse agreed to go out with him. When she finally did, they met at a restaurant in St. Charles called La Mesa. From the moment we sat down, we realized we had something special.
Our first date was nothing short of incredible. We bonded over our shared pickiness as eaters, sticking to our safe choice of steak tacos (with just steak and cheese). The conversation flowed as easily as the drinks, and we soon found ourselves bar hopping around town, enjoying each other’s company well into the night. It was a spectacular evening that neither of us will ever forget.
As we spent more time together, our connection deepened. We spent almost every weekend together, whether back in Bartlett where Allyse lived or in West Loop at Mikey’s. It didnt take long for us to realize that only seeing each other on weekends wasnt going to be enough. Our bond had grown too strong, and we wanted to share our lives on a daily basis. So, we decided to take the next step and buy a place together in the suburbs. This decision marked the beginning of a new chapter in our lives, one filled with excitement and anticipation.
Family is incredibly important to both of us. Our close-knit relationships with our families have always been a central part of our lives, and we look forward to blending our families together in love and celebration.
I knew I was in love with Allyse when I realized how effortlessly she became a part of my life. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness unparalleled, and her love for adventure matched mine perfectly. Proposing to her was the easiest decision I ever made. With a heart full of love and excitement, I asked her to be my forever, and she said yes.
