Fall of 2018 It was Allyson's sophomore year at SNHU and Ethan's freshmen year. Allyson was one of the two women in Calc III. Since Ethan is a smarty pants he was in that class too. Out of all the men in that class he was the only cute one. At the time Ethan was in a relationship and Allyson was going on year 20 of being single. A little crush started to bloom and Allyson would ask Ethan for help on homework and projects. Throughout that semester and till this day Allyson jokes with Ethan that he had a crush on her too. But he still denies it , but Allyson is always right. Winter of 2020 Fast forward two years and they run into each other again in another math class. This time Allyson was still single, year 22, but Ethan was single as well. So the two started to talk and hang out more. Allyson was being shy and stood Ethan up three times at the library because she was too nervous to be out in public with him. Then eventually Allyson's roommates at the time convinced her to stop being scared and go for it. They started hanging out more and working out together until COVID hit. Doubt crept in if the relationship would last, but it did. They FaceTimed almost every night, having virtual dinner dates, virtual movie dates, surprising one another, and then as COVID started to slow down driving up to spend the day together. 2021-2023 Big, exciting things were panning out for the two. Allyson finished up her last year of collegiate soccer and was planning to go pro overseas, while Ethan was graduating and landing an internship at Amazon which turned into a full-time position. Throughout all the moves and changes, they always focused on their relationship. They supported one another, lifted each other up, and were each others biggest fans. All of that hard work led to the most perfect and unexpected engagement. February 14, 2023 Now, I know everyone is questioning if Allyson knew it was happening because she had her nails done. The answer is, SHE HAD NO IDEA! The plan that Allyson thought was happening was going to the Wharf Tavern for a Valentine's Day dinner. Well, we all know that didn't happen. Ethan planned the whole thing, down to the code word to signal he was going to do it. They ended up at Julie's house and Big Michael rode his bike over. Then they went for a walk down the beach as they normally do when they visit Julie. Little did Allyson know Ethan was going to propose. They get to the beach and walk out to the bench area and as they were walking Ethan says, " pineapple". Allyson was confused but it went right over her head until they took a picture together and Ethan turns to her and says, " Happy Valentines Day. You are going to hate me." In that moment she knew and her response when he dropped to one knee was, " I hate you!" But of course she said, "YES!" That day was filled with pure happiness, joy, and excitement! It was the perfect day.
