If you are looking for the perfect pathway to see the popular historic sites in the city, the bride and groom recommend beginning at the Charleston Market and walking up East Bay Street to Waterfront Park and Rainbow Row. If you continue walking, you will hit the end of the peninsula. After walking the Battery and around White Point Garden (where Mason proposed!), you can continue down King Street and enjoy the views of the lovely historic homes and eventually find yourself at the King Street shops north of Broad St.
Enjoy retail therapy while walking up and down King Street. With hundreds of shops to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect souvenir to remember your Charleston getaway!
Located on Meeting Street, the Charleston Museum is the oldest museum in America! The museum boasts Charleston artifacts from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, as well as dinosaur fossils and native animal exhibits. Allyssa and Mason explored the museum on their first anniversary and highly recommend this activity for anyone who enjoys history or just wants to beat the Charleston heat for an hour or two.
If you like cats, the bride recommends stopping by the Pounce Cat Café. At the café, you can enjoy complimentary coffee, tea or soft drink while relaxing with rescued cats. The café is surprisingly busy and does not always have room for walk-ins, so make sure to reserve a spot online.
If you are looking for a nearby park to get some exercise and take in the natural views of the area, Charles Town Landing is a great option. Located about ten minutes outside of downtown, the park has seven miles of trails as well as an animal forest trail that showcases the native species of South Carolina

These two islands outside of Mount Pleasant are great options for anyone who wants to take a day trip to the beach! While Sullivan’s beaches tend to be a little less busy, the parking at Isle of Palms is much more accessible.
Shem Creek is a waterfront favorite among locals and visitors alike. The boardwalk offers fantastic seafood restaurants and exceptional views of the harbor and marsh. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can paddle board or kayak in the creek!
Much like Magnolia Plantation, Boone Hall offers historical and natural attractions for visitors. Take a tour of the on-site mansion or stroll through the gardens and fields of the plantation.
