Our Wedding

Alma and Benton met in November of 2018 in Irvine California, playing on a coed beach volleyball team. Neither of them were very good at volleyball but enjoyed making friends and getting to know each other. Little by little, Benton and Alma hung out more and more. They went on hikes together, indoor rock climbed, both enjoyed country music, were scuba certified together and soon their friendship grew into a relationship. Alma fell in love with Benton’s charm and love for cooking. He made amazing tuna and shrimp burgers as well as pasta from scratch. Benton fell in love with Alma’s kind and calm demeanor. Benton felt like he could be himself around Alma and their time together was recharging for him. After about a year and a half of dating Benton decided to plan a hike to Blackstar Canyon. This was one of their favorite hiking trails. Because Benton had fractured his elbow a few weeks prior, they weren’t able to climb all the way to the waterfall. On one of their rest stops Benton got on one knee and asked Alma if she “would help him tie the knot”. She looked down at him and realized he was holding a ring in his hand and of course she said yes! For months they had talked about the possibility of moving to Colorado for a job opportunity and possible career change for Benton. So on January 7th 2021, they moved to Colorado with help from family and friends. 2021 was a very eventful year for Alma and Benton. They got legally married via zoom in August, found out they were pregnant with little Benton a week later, and in December that year, they bought their first home. They started their life together in Golden, CO. And now will exchange vows and celebrate their love for each other!
