If you want to see what "Nash-vegas" is all about, take a walk down broadway at night. Live music, dancing, and drinks are all around. Its very crowded and can get crazy, be cautious of the Bachelorette parties that will be around they can get pretty wild!
One of our favorite restaurant in town. It is a Japanese, Vietnamese and chinese restaurant inside an old restored diner. The vibes are incredible and the food is amazing. Get the hand pulled noodles. Beef rib, boa buns, and don't skip the beef fat fries!
They don't take reservations so there may be a wait but its worth it!
Fine dining level food with a casual fun environment. They specialize in seafood prepared in unique and simple ways. It’s one of the "hottest" restaurants in town and a little pricey. Reservations need to be made months in advance but if you have a chance to go it is worth it!
Its located in the 12 south neighborhood, and there's many cute shops to walk around after.
If you want a fast, casual and delicious lunch this is the place to go. They make everything in house and the flavors are insane. Our favorites are The #1 and the pork Bahn Mi- add Paté, ask for the red and green hot sauces and don't skip the seasonal lemonade. The half and half peanut milk/Vietnamese coffee is incredible as well.
The Wash is an old car wash restored to house micro restaurants. There are 6 walk up windows with different food and a bar, its outside seating or to go only. Alma's favorite is SS Gai, she always gets the Thai fried chicken with extra veggies, crispy chicken skins and a burnt coconut. Eric loves the peruvien ceviche at Leche de Tigre and the cuban food at Soy Cubano.
This is our favorite restaurant in Nashville, its mostly seafood but they do it all. Reservations are needed for weekends, its a dressy casual vibe. The menu changes seasonally but you can never go wrong with oysters, the seasonal crudo, bread with anchovy butter, poppy caviar and anything from the bar.
Great for walking around, if you get there early there is a museum inside with lots of cool facts.
Best farmers market in middle Tennessee, lots of vendors and artisans to shop from.
Tikki bar with amazing drinks, Alma would drink a gallon of the frozen painkiller if she could,
Amazing ice cream, favorite flavors are salty caramel, salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks, coffee with milk and sugar, goey butter cake, and whatever seasonal flavor they have.
Favorite restaurant in Franklin, every item on the menu is amazing, we love the whole tamarind snapper, and the duck curry.
They also have Nashville locations!
Paletas, ice cream, agua frescas, and Mexican snacks. You can't go wrong with any flavor. Erics favorite Paletas are the mango chamoy, lime and the cajeta, the cucumber lime agua fresca, and a mangonada. Alma loves the strawberry cheesecake paleta, coconut with mango and strawberry, the fresas con Crema, dorilocos, and the horchata agua fresca
Take a trip to where Eric works, Sojourner is the more casual restaurant, stop in for lunch or dinner and walk around the property. The spa is open to the public so if you have time, its a must.
Best breakfast and pastries, they don't take reservations and are super busy so be prepared to wait. The seasonal croissants are to die for.
Hand made artisan chocolates
They have multiple locations and all have different specials, Alma loves the Roosevelt from the Franklin location and Eric loves their seasonal coffee sodas
Nashville institution, "the dingy dive bar of your dreams" - Eric
Cheap drinks, dive bar, and the food is better than it has any right to be... seriously get the patty melt.
Fun for kids and adults.
If there are any comedy shows while you're in town I recommend going. always a fun time.
They have multiple locations, if you want Nashville Hot Chicken this is the place to go. This is the newest out of the 3 main places (Princes and Boltons being the other two) and in our opinion the best. Alma is a wimp and gets the mild and Eric usually gets the hot. (He has gotten the shut the cluck up and was sick for 2 days so take that as you will.)
Voted the most picturesque downtown in America. Alma’s hometown, there so many cute shops to walk around and cute restaurants. One of our favorites for brunch is biscuit love.
The food is incredible. The focaccia will make you shed a tear.
This place is known for their Pupusas (Salvadorian masa discs filled with cheese and meat). If you want a cheap and delicious meal you need to stop by! Each pupusa is no more than $4 and two is all you need to leave the restaurant stuffed.
Erics go to coffee shop on his way to work! One of our favorites if you're around Franklin
James Beard Nominee bakery
One of our favorite lunch places! They don’t take reservations and there’s usually a wait so get there early!
