Our Story

The Proposal

Picture of The Proposal

We started out as friends who did not want to become anything more than just friends. But I think you already know how this story goes…

We have had our share of growing as individuals, while also growing closer together as a couple.

On August 24th 2023, Tyler proposed after being together for a little over 5 years!

The proposal did not go quite as planned for Tyler. We were in Las Vegas and had bought tickets to go on the High Roller at night. It had been booked so that we would have our own cabin with an open bar. I could tell he was very excited but did not think much else of it. We left an hour early to make it in time, but unfortunately when we got there they said they werent letting any more people on as they were going to close soon. No where on the site did it mention you had to be there at a certain time before they closed (and if they did it must’ve been in very fine print!). Tyler was so bummed, and I felt a little bad but I didnt understand exactly why he was so upset. I kept telling him it was okay, but he kept insisting it wasn’t.

(Tyler)-Little did she know I was planning on proposing to her once we were at the highest point on the ferris wheel! Alondra tried lifting my spirits up as we headed over to the Flamingo exhibit. We walked through the Flamingo hotels famous exhibit, and I desperately was trying to save my proposal idea. Where is somewhere, that just seemed… right? I kept looking, and looking... until a little bridge appeared to my right! This seemed perfect! Now trying to get Alondra distracted, and to be able to pull the ring out fast enough was my other problem!

(Alondra)- We walked around the habitat, but there were no flamingos out since it was almost midnight. There was pink lighting and it was a very quiet/still spot this time at night. I was leaning in looking into the water, then I heard him say my name. I turned around and there he was on one knee!! He popped the question, I was so excited I couldn’t even respond right away! I think this made him even more nervous than he already was. So, after a few seconds (and what probably felt like an eternity to Tyler) I said yes!!!

We can’t wait to start this new journey as a married couple. We are SO excited to celebrate and begin this new chapter with all our family and friends.
