How we (re) met!

Picture of How we (re) met!

Chase and Alyson first met in 5th grade while attending St. Anne's Catholic School in Tomball, Texas. The couple didn't like each other much during those days, but as it turns out God had been working on his plan for the couple since that time. Fast forward to 2014: Alyson was browsing on Facebook and saw Chase had "liked" a post of a mutual friend; a friend who also attended 5th grade at St. Anne's (Andrew Shiel, Groomsman). Alyson and Chase reconnected via Facebook after all that time and the rest is history!

Alyson and Chase dated long-distance from Houston to Dallas for a year and a half until finally Alyson and Kennedy moved to Houston to be with Chase and Hunter in March of 2016. Chase and Alyson will have just celebrated their 3rd year anniversary on October 18, 2017 which is why the wedding date is set just a few days later.

The Proposal

Picture of The Proposal

Alyson and Chase were vacationing in Arkansas with Alyson's family for the 4th of July 2016. Chase had secretly planned to propose to Alyson on top of Hawksbill Crag, a mountain cliff in the middle of the Ozark mountains. Everyone was in on the plan that morning except for Alyson. The family loaded up in the truck and drove over two hours through the mountains, up one-way, STEEP dirt roads, and finally to the top of the trail head. The family hiked about 45 minutes through the woods, stopping for a multitude of natural reasons throughout the hike, and finally had arrived to the peak.

Kennedy had been telling everyone that entire week that she had a feeling something good was going to happen on July 3rd, but she wasn't sure what it was (Kennedy was not told about the plan to propose). Alyson's mom had insisted on bringing the "good" camera on the hike, and a small backpack full of snacks.

Alyson and Chase lined up on the crag to pose for a picture, and Chase said "Are you ready for this? This is the good thing that Kennedy had been talking about"... and then he turned to Alyson, dropped to one knee, and asked for forever. Alyson immediately said "YES!!" and the good camera was able to fulfill its purpose that day. Turns out that everyone was very prepared for the proposal! Alyson's mom had brought plastic champagne flutes and mini bottles of champagne, Chase had brought two "Mr" and "Mrs" coozies, and the family drank to champagne toasts on top of the mountain. It was magical!
