Our
story, which we think is the best almost didn't happen! Prerak
postponed our first date for a "genuine" reason of being lazy
and not wanting to leave the house due to rain. Well, his funny &
persistent nature made me give him another chance and we went out on St.
Patrick's Day 2018 for some green beverages. We couldn't stop laughing and we
danced the night away. He asked me million questions about everything
including how I felt about two weddings!! We both got along very
well due to our witty humor and friendly banter.
We
began to realize how much we liked each other but had some hurdles to get
over. For example, Prerak being afraid of Audrey (she might kiss him to death!) and his parents possibly not accepting me because I am white
girl from America. :)
Fast-forward
to June 2019, Prerak proposed to me in the most romantic and surprising way with my
close friends and family present. (We clearly made it over those hurdles, but he still doesn't want Audrey to kiss him).
We can’t wait to share our happily ever after
with all of you in California!
Our wedding in India will be 3 days (January 21st-23rd,2020) with various traditional Hindu rituals.
January 21st, The Mehndi (Henna) Ceremony - During the Mehndi (henna) the brides hands & legs are elaborately decorated with henna. This is a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity in her marriage.
January 22nd, The Haldi (Turmeric) Ceremony - In Haldi (Turmeric) ceremony a paste of turmeric and water is applied on the bride & grooms face which helps the skin to glow and relieve the stress.
January 22nd, The Sangeet (Music) ceremony - This is usually held the night before the wedding. This night is full of music, dance and celebrating the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families.
