Brendan and I met in the fall of 2020. It took a lot of courage, maybe even a little liquid courage, and a couple of months for him to finally ask me out on a date. Our very first date was two hours away from his home at Cheddars kitchen in Lincoln. Brendan had never been to Lincoln, let alone driven there. The willingness he offered for driving two hours one way in a city that he had never even been to, that had a chance of not even working out, goes to show what kind of man Brendan is. From that very first date, we have never run out of things to talk about. It was the easiest date we had both ever been on!


We had taken turns staying at each other’s homes in Hiawatha and Falls City when one day, he decided to stay and never leave. A one bedroom, one bath home was not for the faint of heart with three dogs, so we decided to purchase our first home together in October 2021. We agreed on Falls City as I was working there at the Family Medicine Clinic and he was at AHRS in Bern, Kansas. Falls City soon became our home as it surrounded us with new friends and coworkers who we now call family.


We had been renovating our home when we decided we needed a little break. We were invited to join friends on a Carnival cruise in February of 2023, and that’s when Brendan decided to finally pop the big question. It was an immediate yes!

Not long after and after hours of wedding planning, we found out in May 2023 we were expecting our first child. Huxton Lee Steele was born on December 21, 2023. We have created the perfect little family since adding our sweet Huxton. The dogs, Brendan and I are absolutely in love with him and are so excited to all finally share the same last name on August 17, 2024. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all!
