Where should I stay?
The venue is located in the Edgewater neighborhood, but staying in a hotel or Airbnb elsewhere in the city would be totally feasible. If you want to be close with lake access, Lakeview or Lincoln Park neighborhoods would be great. If you want to stay downtown for the city vibe, Gold Coast or River North would work.
Is there parking?
Lytle House is located on Broadway which offers metered parking on both sides at $2.25/HR. This parking is readily available on Saturdays.
All other surrounding streets are free, no permit required, no time restrictions, and no confusing signage. West of Broadway typically has easy street parking that is readily available on Saturdays.
Otherwise we recommend Uber/Lyft!
How do I find the venue?
The address is 5517 N Broadway, Chicago, IL 60640. You will know you're in the right place when you see the large Dolly Parton mural.
Are you really having a talent show?
Yes. Yes we are. We have a ton of talented friends, and what started as a joke turned into a full blown talent show. Comedians, please do a couple minutes on weddings and love. Maybe even roast Andrew. Musician friends, please serenade Alyssa with your best Beyonce. We want to hear your poetry, see your dance solos, and witness your magic tricks. Please note your talent on the RSVP so the emcee can allot time and determine order.
What are fun things to do in the area?
The Chicago Magic Lounge is located a short distance from the venue and is incredible. Great drinks, speakeasy vibes, and of course, magic!
Hopleaf is also close to the venue and a great location for beer lovers. They have over 60 taps of craft beers and beautiful outdoor seating.
We love the Women & Children First bookstore in Andersonville by the venue, the Unabridged bookstore in Lakeview, Roscoe Books in our neighborhood, and The Last Chapter in Roscoe for the romance novel lovers.
The lake - take some time to walk, bike, or sunbathe along the lake. There are also great opportunities to kayak in the lake or the river.
Some of our favorite restaurants for dinner in Chicago include: Aba, Shokran, Ryuu, Sushi Taco, Small Cheval, and our favorite, Evette's.
For brunch we recommend: Armitage Alehouse (make a reservation ahead of time!), Southport Grocer, Big Jones, and Lucy's for our vegetarian friends.
Besides the wedding, when else can we see you?
Friday night we plan to meet at Trace bar (3714 N Clark) in Lakeview, 7:30-9:30pm. There will be an open bar on the second floor. There's no food at this bar, but there is pizza by the slice next door!
Sunday morning we would like to see you all at a Lakeview rooftop for bagels and coffee, 10-2pm. Address: 3660 N Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60613 (this is an apartment building, so please tell the folks at the front desk you're there for Andrew and Alyssa's brunch party on the rooftop). Parking is tricky in this area, so we recommend Ubering and/or carpooling.
