A few years ago, Kevin moved from Chicago looking for a fresh start—and hoping to meet a Southern girl who shared his values and faith. He didn’t expect that prayer to be answered so quickly, but on the first day of school at Page Middle, he met Alyssa.

They were both teachers—Kevin was coaching football, and Alyssa coached cheer—so their paths crossed often. What started as quick conversation before and after school turned into daily chats, and before long, they found themselves spending weekends together—running, enjoying the fall weather, and simply getting to know each other outside of work.

What started as a simple meet up after school turned into a three-hour conversation that made it clear something special was happening.

Since then, they’ve built a life full of shared routines and simple joys— morning workouts, walks with their dog Carl, and time spent with friends and family. Most importantly, they’ve kept Christ at the center of their relationship, growing together in faith and love.

On July 4th, Kevin proposed in one of their favorite spots—on the same hilltop where they’d often take Carl for walks and soak in the view of the Tennessee hills. It was a place filled with everyday moments that had become part of their story, making it the perfect place to begin the next chapter.

Now, they’re looking forward to everything ahead—grateful for where they started, and even more excited for what’s to come.
