Our Wedding

The story of Alyssa and Kyle begins on July 5, 2015. Alyssa was driving to church alone, which was unusual because she usually went with her sister Brittany, but Brittany ended up having to work that day. Meanwhile, Kyle was visiting his hometown in California from Arizona where he lived and worked, which he only did once every couple months. Alyssa had missed a couple weeks of church because she had been hanging out with her family who was visiting from New York. Neither of the two knew that church was canceled that day because the parishioners went to a conference. Upon Alyssa's arrival at the church she saw the parking lot was completely empty, except for a lone red truck. Seeing the drivers door propped open, Alyssa drove up next to the truck to see if the driver knew what was happening. To her delight the driver was a tall attractive man. Kyle was also delighted at the sight of Alyssa, so he tried his best to keep the conversation going even after they both established that church was canceled. After about 30 minutes of talking Kyle asked Alyssa to coffee where they sat and talked for a couple hours. After the impromptu meeting Kyle headed back to Arizona leaving Alyssa slightly swept of her feet, but Alyssa had to be verrrry patient while Kyle decided if he wanted to pursue a long-distance relationship. Three months later Kyle asked Alyssa out on an official date. Two months after that they actually went on the date and hung out quite a bit during Christmas break. About a month after that Kyle asked Alyssa to be his girlfriend. Again, Alyssa is clearly a very patient person... They held out two years long distance until Kyle finally moved back to California around Christmas in 2017. The couple faced some trials and tribulations, including the loss of Kyle's dad, Jeff, in early 2020, but through that tremendous loss it only solidified their relationship even more. Alyssa growing more and more impatient finally started to drop very obvious hints about wanting to get married. Kyle eventually got the hint and planned a nice weekend in Big Bear. Unbeknownst to them they went when the first big snow storm of the season hit. After learning how to install snow chains for the first time together they found a nice spot to pull over to take a hike down to the lake. Alyssa walked ahead of Kyle back up from the lake and Kyle started saying a lot of nice things to her, making her suspicious. Eventually Alyssa turned around to Kyle on one knee. She proceeded to cry then regained her composure and agreed to marry him after confirming the ring met her high, but fair, standards. Now they are anxious to be married and start their life together at their newly purchased home, which they intend to fill with both children and dogs.

Brittany and Alyssa first met when Alyssa was born. Alyssa threw off Brittany's 6 year streak of being the only daughter in the family. It took Brittany a while  to recover from this loss, so naturally she took it out on Alyssa, but she showed how much she loved Alyssa by doing things like punching a neighborhood kid who made Alyssa cry and letting Alyssa tag along with her friends. Eventually Brittany realized how awesome it was to have a sister and she started enjoying spending more and more time with her outside of forced family events. Soon she realized they were more than "sisters forever", they were friends.

Sara Reilly, AKA Sara Plummer, also first met Alyssa when she was born. Their families moved to the same neighborhood and quickly became best friends. Sara was the kid who would agree to anything our families would put her up to, which led to things like breaking her finger going rollerblade skiing behind a bicycle, being pushed backwards blind folded and strapped into a stroller, and flying 30 feet up in the air in a lawn chair tied to weather balloons. They and their families have literally spent the last 30 plus years of life together. So you can say Sara and Alyssa are like sisters.

Alyssa and Haley met back in Junior High through mutual friends who were all in the honor role classes. As you can imagine, they were the COOL kids. Haley and Alyssa, along with their other two best friends became a collective group of best friends known as The Core Four through high school and early college years. They've always remained friends through life and have had many adventures together. Although they don't get to see each other too often now, every time they hang out they lose track of time or sometimes get lost on trails because no one was paying attention to where they were going... Either way, Alyssa is very grateful to have had her by her side for almost 20 years now.

Haley Ordinola

Alyssa and Kailey met, oh jeese, maybe 10 years ago? Alyssa's brother, Ryan, brought Kailey around when they started dating. The family knew it must be serious because he didn't bring too many girls around. Eventually, Ryan worked up the guts to ask Kailey to marry him and now she is part of the family! She is the mama to Alyssa's kitty niece, Ziti, who Alyssa helped name. She enjoys trying new beers with Kyle and tending to her mini farm of plants at her's and Ryan's apartment. Alyssa can't wait to see what the future brings for her and Ryan and the family.

Kailey Gillotti 

Adrian and Kyle met in college at the local Catholic Newman Center, and after attending a retreat together realized they were going to be good friends. Their friendship only grew after a successful hike up Mt. Humphrey, a road trip to Vegas, wild times bar hopping down Mill Ave, a long haul from Tucson to Denver, and memorable bachelor party for Adrian. You can safely say they became best friends. 

Adrian Gurrola

Alex and Kyle also met in college at the Catholic Newman Center and found a bond over their love of sports. While Kyle fancied himself a good athlete, he could not match Alex's athleticism in Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and even Handball.  After Kyle helped Alex and Adrian move from Tucson to Denver, they knew they would be friends for life.

Alejandro and Kyle also met in college at, you guessed it, the Catholic Newman Center and quickly developed a friendship over Basketball and Theology. After countless hours spent on the court, and greeting people coming into church, they knew they would be good friends. They will always have fond memories of joking around with Catholic Apologist Trent Horn.
