Their story began in 2018 in Springfield, Massachusetts when Alyssa walked into her first day as an intern for the Springfield Thunderbirds where Charles had been working full time. According to Charles, he wanted to ask her out the day they met. Over a year went by before they went on their first date on December 13, 2019. Only a month later, Charles asked Alyssa to be his girlfriend and on September 30, 2022, he asked her to be his wife.
