It was March 2020....the world was shut down....hiking trails were closed....and Alyssa thought now would be a good time to try online dating so she wouldnt actually have to meet anybody. Unbeknownst to her, just 48 hours later she and Quinn would be having an in depth conversation about the feasibility of opening a potato stand, and they both knew they had just met someone special.
After a month of just texting (this was the height of the pandemic after all), Alyssa and Quinn were getting more impatient to meet each other, at which point Quinn innocently asked if she would like to grab some camp chairs, drive up a forest service road together...with no one around...and have a drink or two. Anyone reading this knows Quinn wouldnt hurt a fly, but Alyssa reminded him that while he seemed like a good guy, he also could be the next Ted Bundy. Once that idea was quickly aborted, they decided to meet for a bike ride on the very popular, very well lit, Interurban Trail.
Since that first bike ride, Alyssa and Quinn have been on countless adventures and LOTS of forest service roads together. The latest of those adventures was a trip to Ruby Beach, on a wet and cold Friday morning, where Quinn planned to propose to Alyssa. With the help of their dog Squid, he tricked Alyssa into thinking he was setting up his phone to take a picture together, when in reality he was starting a video to capture the big moment. Next thing Alyssa knew, Quinn was down on one knee asking her to marry him.
