After my mom had been nagging me to finally go on a date because it had been a while, I finally decided to try Upward, a Christian dating app that I had kept seeing ads for on my phone. I wasn't expecting much but I thought I would give it a shot, and within a day I saw this super handsome guy that was definitely way out of my league and swiped right. I was shocked to find out that we matched, and we ended up going on our first date soon after that (pictured above). We went on a scavenger hunt with Josh's cousin/best friend/soon-to-be-best-man Ty in search of funny things like a kid throwing a tantrum, a buttcrack, and funky socks. I had an absolute blast running around the mall and cracking jokes with Josh all day (and we beat Ty, might I add!). The more and more I got to know Josh, the more I learned how generous, patient, and kind he really is. Not only that, but he is a true man of God who prays with me, loves me, and leads me the way God has written in his Word. He always strives to honor God and share the gospel to others, and that is something that really drew me to him. On June 10, 2023, Josh took me on a scavenger hunt with Ty again as an early birthday present. At the last stop at Hinckley Reservoir, Josh got down on one knee, and I couldn't hold in the excitement. I can't wait to call him my husband and continue to grow with him and love him.

My brother met his significant other on a Christian dating app called Upward. After looking in the wrong places for far too long, Caleb convinced me to get the app, pray without ceasing, and stick with it as it took him about 6 months to find Aniyah. After many months passed, I was about ready to give up on the app, sick and tired of matching with people 300 miles away with no interest in even talking. Then one morning working at the cafe a miracle from God happened. I was looking at the app and I saw this beautiful blonde with beautiful blue eyes and an amazing smile. I thought to myself that she is way out of my league and would never match with me. Then I took a look at the bio and she was going to Utica University and was only 15 miles away!! I was beyond excited and the next thing you know we matched! I couldn’t believe it. After months of praying for a future wife God answered my prayers. God was completely in control through the whole process. Our first date was a hilarious and genius idea from my cousin Ty, soon to be best man. A scavenger hunt at Destiny mall finding funny and unfortunate things. It was Alyssa and I vs. Ty which was pretty obvious on who was gonna win haha (We won!), but it was so much fun and a great way to get to know Alyssa! Fast forward two years later and I came up with another scavenger hunt idea, driving to places important to Alyssa and I taking nice pictures in our nice clothes, with Ty as our photographer, with the last place being the big SURPRISE. I was so worried that she wouldn’t be surprised about popping the question, but it went beyond perfect! At the lower boat launch in Hinckley I gave her an early birthday gift. A Tangled Disney 100 Funko Pop as a cover up. The moment she thought that was it I dropped on one knee and popped the question. Still don’t know if she said yes through all the shaking and screaming. I am so thankful and grateful for God blessing my life with such an amazing and wonderful woman. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her and grow more in my relationship with God. She is so motivating, loving, and smart and I love her so so so much!
