Our Wedding

Alyssa and Elias met in Middlebury, Vermont during their sophomore year of high school in Bjarki Sears' history class. They quickly became friends, bonding over their love of Doctor Who and joining WAY too many extracurriculars.

Chapter One: The Meet-Cute

After graduating high school, Elias left Vermont to go to McGill University in Montreal while Alyssa stayed in Middlebury on a gap semester. Even though they were apart, Elias and Alyssa stayed in touch, writing letters and texting non-stop. Eventually, Alyssa drove up to Canada to tell Elias how she really felt. (He had no idea she was coming). She sent him a text and they met up at an A&amp;W. Thankfully Elias felt the same way and they started to date.

Chapter Two: The Reveal

While Elias and Alyssa were in college, they visited each other so often that some of Alyssa's classmates thought that Elias was at student at Middlebury and some of Elias's professors thought Alyssa was a student at McGill (she's still proud of the grade she got in Elias's Introduction to Latin American Studies class). In junior year, Elias studied abroad in Granada, Spain while Alyssa studied in Norwich, England and they enjoyed visiting each other and traveling to France, Scotland, and Sweden together!

Chapter Three: Long Distance

Elias and Alyssa's senior years were interrupted by the pandemic. They moved home to finish their classes online but quarantines and lockdowns made it difficult for them to see each other. They spent a lot of time hiking outdoors and waving to one another through windows. Even though this was a difficult time, they still celebrated milestones like Elias graduating and Alyssa getting her teaching license.

Chapter Four: The Pandemic

Elias and Alyssa have lived a lot of places since they both graduated. Their first apartment was in an old farmhouse in Vermont that featured aggressive goats and a carpeted kitchen. In 2021, they moved just outside of DC where they lived in basements and high rises. Currently, they live in a rowhouse in Baltimore.

Chapter Five: Moving In

On the evening of a full moon in May, Alyssa and Elias traveled to a beach in Delaware to see the spawning of the horseshoe crabs. Alyssa was so excited to see the crabs, she hardly even noticed that she was being proposed to. She was totally surprised but eventually calmed down enough to say "yes!" They got engaged on the beach, at sunset, and the crabs were the only witnesses.

Chapter 6: Engaged to be Wed

From passing notes in class to building a life together, Alyssa and Elias owe much of their happiness to the family and friends who supported them along the way. They are so lucky to have an incredible network of loved ones who gave them perspective, advice, and unconditional love over the last eight and a half years. So, if you're reading this, thank you! They can't wait to celebrate with you in person.

Shuttles will be running to all the locations listed above throughout the evening for your convenience. Shuttles are scheduled to depart at:9:30 PM10:30 PM11:00 PM12:30 PM- this will be the final shuttle of the evening.

Driving to the Welcome Party

Check out Bristol's annual Home Growing: Under the Stars, A Local Celebration for Affordable Housing in Bristol. This celebration runs from 4-7PM on September 19th and will have food and live music.
