We were first introduced to each other by a coworker sometime in 2015. We met in person for the first time at Beer Can Alley in downtown Des Moines in October of 2015. Nick was with his friends & I was with mine. He came up to me to introduce himself & I didn't really know exactly who he was. I had just seen his Facebook profile and I didn't have much to go by. In the meantime, I switched jobs & was now working at the same place as Nick. Nick was out in the field and I was the office girl. Fast forward to January of 2017, Nick asked me out and we went out a couple of times but I decided that the time wasn't right and so I called it off. We kept in contact for the rest of that year and saw each other out at the bars throughout the year. On New Year's Eve of 2017, my friends Allie & Heather begged me to invite Nick over to our apartment. Nick's friends were all gone to the Iowa State bowl game and so Nick agreed to come over but he couldn't stay for a long time because he was meeting another one of his friends at the bar. Nick ended up staying the whole time even though it was like -30 degree wind chill outside! After that the rest was history! Nick asked me to be his girlfriend on February 22, 2018 and proposed on July 24, 2021! It's been quite a journey but I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else but Nick! We are excited to celebrate with all of our family & friends on September 17th!
