CCCA Conference | March 6th was the day we met! We were both attending a conference for work and met in the dining hall. Michael, who enjoys plain black coffee for breakfast, was late because he's not much of a breakfast person. Alyssa was late because she was praying with a friend about being single, for what seemed like forever. We ended up sitting at the same table and struck up a conversation. This photo was taken later that day during session and is our first photo together! Shoutout to our photographer friend Kurtis Moss for knowing we would cherish a photo of this moment someday!

Menominee River | Michael and I and two of his close friends, Brian and Haley, took a canoe paddle down the Menominee River. We were paddling against the wind the entire time, but no one fell in! Later that evening after we made it back to shore, Michael asked me to be his girlfriend.

Lake Lundgren Bible Camp | As the summer went on, Michael and I got to experience each others camp in the process of getting to know one another. In between work responsibilities we got to enjoy time together in the sun on Lundgren Lake.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore | Even though summers at camp are busy, Michael and I took a day trip to Pictured Rocks! I had never been before. We hiked the ridge and saw tiny red kayaks below. We spent multiple hours talking on the beach. The water was icy but we swam deeper anyways. I told Michael I loved him ... but I guess I wasn't super clear. He didn't know that's what I was trying to say!

Amherst, WI | I brought Michael to my hometown to meet my family for the first time. We had a lovely fall day exploring a corn maze and carving pumpkins.

Amherst, WI | Michael and I visited my family for Christmas. We had a blast decorating gingerbread houses together! Michael structurally engineered the whole thing and I made the outside pretty.

CCCA Conference | Our 1 year anniversary! Since Michael and I met at this conference last year, we decided to recreate our first photo together. Even though we were working throughout the week, it was sweet to spend time celebrating how God brought us together one year prior.

Rib Mountain State Park | Will you marry me? Yes! Michael and I had been talking about getting engaged and getting married for a couple months now. I knew a proposal was coming but I didn't know when. Michael worked with a few of my close friends to plan a surprise proposal during a hiking date. It was truly a surprise!
