Our story begins in 2017 when we met at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota. Alyssa was attending DSU for a degree in Computer Science. Travis was attending DSU for a degree in Cyber Security.

The first time Alyssa and Travis met, Travis was almost bald. He had shaved his head because he chose to dye his hair blue... for some reason. She called him an "egg head".

Travis and Alyssa attended college together for a year and a half until Alyssa left DSU to continue her degree remotely at Lake Area College. While Alyssa was finishing her degree remotely, she lived in Brookings, SD with a few of the friends she made while attending DSU. Travis would often travel to Brookings to visit Alyssa on the weekends.

In November of 2018, Travis and Alyssa began dating, he was the one who asked her to date. For the next couple of years, Travis and Alyssa would both continue their degrees, seeing each other on the weekends.

When Travis graduated in 2021, Alyssa moved with Travis to Denver, Colorado for his work. During their time in Denver, they adopted a dog/angel they named Jessica. They continued to live together in Denver for a year. Once Travis found out that they no longer needed to live in Denver for his work, they moved back to South Dakota to be closer to family.

They found a townhome in Sioux Falls to rent, and shortly after returning to South Dakota, Travis proposed in October of 2022. Travis proposed at the Pioneer Memorial overlooking the north side of Sioux Falls.

Since the proposal, Alyssa, Travis, & Jessica have been living in their townhome preparing for the wedding at Blue Haven Barn.
