Our Wedding

Although they both grew up within 5 miles of each other, Michael and Alyssa didn’t actually meet until 2015 in college when they ended up in the same Biology class. Having noticed each other immediately, they continued to exchange awkward eye contact throughout the first few weeks of the semester. Both of them unwilling to make the first move to talk to one another. Finally, Alyssa built up the courage to message Michael on Instagram about something in class.Before long, they exchanged numbers to get together and study but studying quickly took a turn for something more. He was a gentleman who complimented her often- she was driven and passionate about what she wanted out of life. With each of them chasing after the electrifying connection of the other, their friendship and love story began. After a few weeks and a couple of dates, Michael took Alyssa to Buffalo Bayou Park where he set up a picnic. They rode bikes, climbed trees and he asked her to be his girlfriend! There was something about that day at that park that meant so much to Alyssa that when the time came for their one year anniversary she asked Michael if a picnic at the park could be their own tradition where they celebrate every year. Throughout the years they have been lucky enough to experience many of life’s milestones together. They have discovered new hobbies together such as hiking, biking, camping and have found a mutual love for traveling.Together they helped each other graduate college and have supported one another through changing careers. They have experienced loss and hardships that have taught them to trust in each other and lean on one another. Most importantly, they adopted the most rambunctious pup - Charlie Brown who is the heart and soul of their little family. And every year, on their anniversary they go back to that same park to celebrate where it all started.

Our Story

Continuing their tradition 5 years later in December of 2020, they set up their picnic like just like they did every year. Only this time Michael’s friend Nic asked if he could take pictures of them for his “portfolio”.Alyssa didn’t think any thing of it but little did she know, this was no ordinary anniversary picnic like they've had before.Michael planned everything.The two of them drank their wine, ate some snacks and took pictures for awhile when suddenly Alyssa noticed that she was taking pictures alone...“Where did Michael go?”Before she could go investigate, she turned around and Michael was on one knee with a box laying gently in his hand. Somewhere between Michael’s speech and Alyssa’s tears he asked her to be his wife… and she said “YES!”They were immediately swarmed with cheers and hugs by their closest friends and family! Turns out they had been hiding around the corner the entire time!It was the most perfect day and one that will always hold so much meaning. Help share in the love and excitement as they embark in this new season of becoming husband and wife!

The Proposal

When it came to the topic of who they wanted to be the one to marry them, Alyssa and Michael only thought of one person. Ricky Vazquez. 
From the beginning of their relationship, Ricky has always been at the forefront to lend a hand, give advice and help the couple explore new adventures. He is someone they trust deeply and are so grateful for his position in their journey of becoming husband and wife.

After meeting on their high school dance team sophomore year, Ana and Alyssa became inseparable. Ana is Alyssa’s voice of reason. She knows all the right things to say and she’s also the number one person to go along with all of Alyssa’s crazy ideas!

From frenemies to besties, Brandy is Alyssa’s twin flame. If you ever spend five minutes with these two together you’ll notice that they’re literally the same person! Brandy keeps Alyssa motivated and is the one she can call for anything.

Despite meeting at work it never felt like a job when these two were together. Ashleigh is the one who always encourages Alyssa to be the best version of herself and always keeps her smiling!

Alyssa’s elementary school bestie. Heather has been Alyssa’s rock through some of her toughest times. From their awkward phases to their love of mint chocolate chip ice cream, Heather has been one of Alyssa’s most loyal and honest friends.

Cousins by birth, soul sisters by choice. Alyssa and Karli have always been a dynamic duo since they were little choreographing dances together. Even as adults, they share a love of dance and Alyssa looks up to Karli and her sense of fashion.

Kristen and Alyssa met in their second grade dance class and have been friends ever since. She’s the glue that keeps Alyssa together and always encourages her to meet new people and try new things!

Brothers by birth, best friends by choice. Bradley has been Michael's rock throughout his most important moments in life and all the ones in between.

Wedding Location & Timeline

The wedding will take place at The Springs Event Venue in Wallisville Texas. All wedding festivities will be held at this location and a map with directions to the venue can be found in the Travel section of our website. Navigating to an unfamiliar location can be tricky and traffic in Houston is almost always certain. Please allow enough time to arrive and be seated as the ceremony will start outside on the Trinity Farmhouse lawn promptly at 4:00pm. Cocktail Hour will begin immediately following the ceremony inside the Trinity Farmhouse. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks can be enjoyed while the wedding party and their families take photos. Dinner and celebration of the newlyweds will begin at 6:00pm until their grand exit as Mr. &amp; Mrs. Bolton at 10:30pm.

Can I Take Pictures? 

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. This means we kindly ask that all phones and devices be put away and on silent during the entire ceremony. Pictures + video will be taken by hired, professional photographers and videographers in order to capture this significant moment in our lives and we would hate to have a well-meaning persons phone/device blocking the moments they’re trying to capture. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos as you want! We promise to share the ceremony photos + videos promptly!

If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Due to venue capacity limitations, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.

Tiny Humans

Although we love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate everyone’s children at our wedding due to restricted numbers.&nbsp;If we were unable to invite your children, we hope that you’ll see this as an opportunity to let your hair down and enjoy the party with us!

Is There a Dress Code? 

Semi-formal is preferred. Men are encouraged to wear suits, slacks, sports coats, dress shirts, ties, etc. Denim is discouraged. Ladies are encouraged to wear cocktail dresses, pantsuits, tea-length dresses, etc.

Where Should Guests Park?

There are parking spaces available on the venue property. Please do not plan on driving if you will be consuming alcohol during the reception. There are Uber and Lyft services available within in the Wallisville area.

What if I am unable to attend?

You will be missed! We understand there are many unforeseeable and special circumstances that may prevent you from attending. If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and mark "DECLINE" next to your name on the RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
