John and I met while serving at Fuse. He says that he saw me from across the atrium and he knew that he needed to get to know me. That night, he asked our friend Carlee to seat us at the same table for the celebration dinner. He made a lot of jokes and I remember laughing a lot that night. From then on, he would invite me on group hangouts after fuse and we began to form a sweet friendship.

After a while, these group hangouts turned into one on one hangouts at the apartment. We watched movies, chatted, played games and just hung out. I started to develop a crush on him and hoped that he would ask me on a date.

On January 12, 2022, John asked me if I wanted to go on a date with him. We got Chinese takeout and he took me to watch the sunset at Bald Rock. Then, we played a game of mini-golf at Oasis. During this date, he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes! It was such a fun date and sometimes we still do date nights at Oasis. I'm determined to win a round one of these days ;)

John was my date to FCA formal. We laughed and danced the night away with some of our favorite people.

John and I celebrated getting our Clemson rings and looked forward to enjoying the summer. Go tigers!

The fall of senior year, John and I celebrated a lot of lasts together. I had loved watching him from the stands all season and cheering on the Tigers together from different areas in the stadium. Meeting him at the 50 yard line at the end of each game had become my favorite tradition.

John met Indie, lovingly known as Indiana Chonky Jones Gibbs (I'll let you figure out who came up with that one)

John and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Greenville. We enjoyed a nice dinner and played mini golf in Greenville.

We both graduated with our bachelor's degree in the same year. He began working for Freeland and Associates as a land surveyor that summer and I began preparing for a year of pursing my master's degree in teaching and learning.

Now that John was graduated and I was working on getting my master's, we were finally able to watch Clemson games together. We had a great time cheering on the tigers from the stands together!

We spent this summer apart with him working in Greenville and me living in Fort Mill to prepare for my first year teaching. Though we were apart, we made time to do things together on weekends, talked on the phone, and both worked towards securing a strong future with one another.

On June 10, 2024, John popped the question! He surprised me on a girl's trip to Charleston and planned the sweetest proposal. He surprised me so well that I think I forgot to speak to tell him yes! I enthusiastically nodded my head to say yes to forever with my favorite guy in the whole world <3
